I have been working at Apex Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good holiday structure - you have a few floating holidays to choose from and a lot of gifted PTO for Christmas/New Years.

    Cons

Honestly the most childish company I've ever worked for. Their whole mantra is to crush competition (specifically Teksystems) with no regard to how they can improve as a company, which seems very petty to me. Account Managers have a much better pay structure, more flexible hours, and are appreciated/treated much better than recruiters (even if an AM and a recruiter had the same start date, the AM is seen as superior despite being a totally different career track). The people in management don't have any experience with/interest in actually managing people and are therefore awful at it. Extremely petty, stereotypical sales office with a bunch of ex-athletes who like to remind you that they used to play sports. They don't trust you to do your job, everything feels like it's designed to keep tabs on you so it can be used as ammunition to give you a critical review later.

    Advice to Management

Pick managers who have experience with management, and actually listen to your recruiters! They know the market better than the AM because they are actually in it day in and day out, so take what they say seriously.

    Pros

Apex has grown and ever evolving. There are plenty of opportunities for advancement for the right person. They tend to hire really great people that are easy to work with.

    Cons

You have to really do research on your own to learn about growth, nobody will identify it for you or reward good behavior without being prodded.

    Advice to Management

Set up a training program for people who want to evolve their career.

I worked at Apex Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to make lots of money and great job for someone right out of college.

    Cons

Very cliquish and old school corporate mentality I didn't feel like i was part of the team. Management turned a blind eye when reqs or subs were taken by a "lead" recruiter because they were able to work reqs around the system had good relationships with AM's. That makes recruiters not want to work on reqs or not be motivated to work on old reqs. Heavy micro management and some leadership shouldn't be in management. They're the reason why there is heavy turn over.
