I worked at Apogee Results full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexibility
    Family environment
No need to hide the person you are
Personal matters were handled with care
Laughing and enjoying being at work

    Cons

    Compensation low
Some strings of complete disarray due to management changes
*Employee assessment and compensation did not align at all

    Advice to Management

Stick to what got you a crew that was ready, willing, and able to take on whatever the company needed.
Be a little more cautious with employee/client assessment, your company may mean more to an employee's life than you think.

I worked at Apogee Results full-time

    Pros

Zero! I quit after my first payroll check bounced on top of being the wrong amount to boot! I really am serious. Who cares seemed like everyone was crazy there!

    Cons

See above^^^ Honestly I read these reviews and can honestly say the things I saw in the short amount of time there... Everything must be sooo true!

    Advice to Management

I don't have anything as I never really received the full truth or back pay that was owed during the three weeks I spent there.

I have been working at Apogee Results full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - strong, diversified client base which creates an A+ learning environment
    - world class SEO and PPC talent (see learning environment comment above)
    - national reputation (warranted) for ethical and effective online marketing
    - great training for turbocharging a career in digital marketing
    - CEO is approachable, and a real master at the art of modern marketing
    - opportunities to attend (and speak at) national events.

I'm not sure what the negative reviewers are talking about as I've not experienced any of the things that some of them mention. This place is friendly, though there's lots of work to go around as we move into growth mode. Our CEO just got back from two years running marketing for a pre-IPO $100 million + CA tech company, which is a huge feather in our cap -- lots to be learned here that can be learned nowhere else in Austin.

    Cons

    - salaries on agency side are a little lower than on client-side
    - historical lessons-learned re hiring resulted in some disgruntled alumni
    - north side of town (Arbor-area) so hard to get to if you live south
    - only a few restaurants we can walk to for lunch from the office (have to drive)

    Advice to Management

    HIRE MORE SALESPEOPLE
Actually, have MORE meetings (we don't have enough)
    Expand our own marketing
Be more public on our Apogee PoV (Point of View) on SEO and PPC

    Pros

GREAT and genuinely rewarding relationships with upper management, great work-life balance, healthcare, company events.
The lady and "backbone" of Apogee, genuinely cares about the life and future for all of her employees.
When things are good...they are GREAT

    Cons

    Job security
There is a standard level of respect that everyone receives, which is (great for the deserving) frustrating to see undeserving receive the same.
Make sure that the competent, loyal, motivated people are reminded of their value.

Liability (even in the eyes of every employee) are treated equally as the ones with good intentions and genuine care for the company. It is understood, but never addressed
The "backbone" of Apogee, genuinely cares about the life and future for all of her employees. Con- Some do not deserve equal respect, causing frustration for multiple employees.

    Advice to Management

    Actual performance and value.
Allocate the loyalty and care accordingly.

I worked at Apogee Results full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    * Excellent work environment. Everyone is extremely open and helpful.
    * Opportunity to learn a lot about the industry by working with many (highly varied) clients.
    * Company encourages learning opportunities--SEO/SEM people work together and each can learn the other side of the fence.

    Cons

    * At least while I was there, the hardware wasn't up to scratch (old laptops).
    * Company went through some rough times in my 3 years. I volunteered to hold my checks multiple times in 2012.
    * I worked with a lot of people at Apogee--not all of them contributed to the "excellent work environment" I mentioned above.

    Advice to Management

Apogee made a lot of big changes during the three years I was there. On the whole, they are absolutely trending in the right direction. You have a good set of people, invest a little more in them (hardware, more training, more active involvement from management) and you'll do even better.

I have been working at Apogee Results full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Family oriented, everyone here feels like family.
    - Friendly environment, culture is very laid back and self-motivated.
    - Lax schedules ... show up, do your job, and go home.
    - Understanding management.
    - Individual and creative freedom.

I've worked a large number of jobs ranging from local start-ups to major corporations and I find Apogee to be one of the least stressful jobs I've ever had. The creative freedom and trust factor is a major part of that. Everyone here is also supportive and friendly. We've had some egos in the past, but they've since left the company (and evidently posted on this review board). We've had a number of people in the past get laid off or leave for other opportunities that were good people as well.

The people that are still here are all good people and fully capable of doing their job. Those that are less experienced are under the direction of those that have the experience. If you have a question you have only to ask ... everyone helps everyone else out. It's a very collaborative work environment.

    Cons

    - Company has had some financial bumps, but that's to be expected with small companies.

You're going to have some cons with ANY job. Personally, I think a lot of the viewpoints that were presented here are a bit overblown and dramatic. I've been asked to hold my check voluntarily, but we've only had one occasion that required us to hold our checks and that was due to IBM owing the company a massive amount of money (last year).

I worked at Apogee Results full-time

    Pros

    - the building where they office has a small gym,
    - offices are not cramped (plenty of space)
    - young and lively employees who are willing to learn and brainstorm together

    Cons

    - the company has had several exoduses over the past couple years, and the common denominator is the top executive (who appears to be the one posing as a current employee in recent positive reviews)
    - employees are frequently asked to withhold paycheck
    - company is represented publicly as a much larger and more capable organization then it actually is

    Advice to Management

Take the next couple years to put a solid foundation into place so the company can experience some stability and growth.

I have been working at Apogee Results full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture is really what makes this company what it is. They are flexible, good paid holidays, and the company pays a good portion of your insurance. Everyone here is great to work with.

    Cons

The computers need to be updated and there has been some recent turnover. The turnover was due to other companies recruiting our people and some due to people just not doing a good job. I don't know if it is competitors or disgruntled employees making the poor reviews, but it is unfortunate that people are being dishonest.

    Advice to Management

I know management is on the hunt for the right person, but we need someone between the executive management and the services.
