I worked at Apollo Education Group as a contractor

    Pros

Good company. Great atmosphere to work in.

    Cons

Since this was a contract position, they decided one day to drop all the contract employees. So, had a job one day, and didn't have the job the next day.

    Cons

downsizing again and again and again the company is no longer able to provide quality services to its client base. no upward movement is possible salaries are stagnant there has been 1 increase in the last 2 years for 2%

    Advice to Management

cut the redundancy at the top and remember why you exist, be open to do things differently with the client base, take cues from other education companies and innovate on what they do to remain competitive

I worked at Apollo Education Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Apollo provides free education to their employees. There is also many opportunities to transfer to other departments and diversify your career.

    Cons

There are a lot of fish in the barrell. Hard work in addition to networking are necessary to advance. Getting into the management team may require some elbow rubbing and tie checking.

    Advice to Management

A management training program for entry level associates would be beneficial. The tuition reimbursement is great and in addition to a lean training for promising employees would have been great.

I worked at Apollo Education Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

During my time of employment the company went out of their way to show their employees that they cared. Through competitive compensation, strong work/life balance and continued education and training.

    Cons

Since my departure I have heard that the company has been less focused on the wellness of their employees and more on the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Refocus on taking care of your employees so they can focus on taking care of your customers

    Pros

Company supports employees. Committed to providing a good environment and the tools to be successful. The education field is intrinsically rewarding.

    Cons

Dept of Ed creates many obstacles that make it difficult to reward employees for superior performance. Bad apples in the industry have contributed to the problem.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to tie income to enrollment, directly or indirectly.

I worked at Apollo Education Group full-time

    Pros

    Meaningful work
    Great, smart, fun coworkers
Lots of cross-collaboration opportunities throughout the company

    Cons

The industry being under fire is hard to swallow. Being forced to constantly downsize, or fearing the next government/political attack made it difficult for employees not to become overwhelmed. If the industry was in a better place, I think more would agree it's a great company and one that truly does right by its students and changes lives.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent, even when it's bad news
