      Pros

Lower management genuinely cares about your job and wants to see you succeed. They accommodate your work schedule. You coworkers are the main reason you would want to stay.

      Cons

Leadership is completely tone def to lower workings of the customer facing side of things and as a result it has become one of the worst placed to work. I put my heart and soul into this company and ended up an empty husk that cries almost everyday before starting work...

      Pros

Excellent team, great culture, and fun place to work. There was growth opportunity and they promote from within.

      Cons

At the time most engineers were underpaid which resulted in lots of people leaving.

AppRiver employees are great. Management, not so much.

      Pros

Employees are a blast to work with, remote work is available

      Cons

Management will not listen to critique, low salary and no opportunity for a raise without threatening to quit, the work-life balance disappeared after the Zix acquisition.

This is a great growing, international company to work for.

      Pros

The company has been extremely agile throughout the uncertainties facing our world this year. We've had constant, intentional, communication every week from our executives and leaders in the org. We have continued to grow in a healthy way this year.

      Cons

Nothing at this time. Keep up the great work!

A lot has changed in the past year

      Pros

AppRiver was an amazing company when I first started working there. Though it's still one of the better companies to work for, a lot has changed since it was acquired by Zix. Some of the pros that remain: great benefits (including 401K) and paid time off; perks like holiday parties, drinks and snacks in the office, and massages; community outreach programs with opportunities to give back (such as cooking at the local Ronald McDonald House.)

      Cons

The company has become far more focused on results than on people. They turned "Phenomenal Care" into a commodity which could be sold, something that is about as un-Phenomenal as possible. As an employee, I felt less cared for as time went on.

Zix ruined a perfectly successful company

      Pros

The people of AppRiver made AppRiver. Before Zix, people were focused on delivering value to the org and to customers. The culture was supportive, trusting, and fostered innovation. The only good things left about AppRiver are the poor souls still there after the acquisition by Zix.

      Cons

Zix purchased AppRiver with a bunch of promises and hasnt delivered on any of them. Zix's culture is based on fear and lack of trust (across the board). They have way too many internal politics for their size which indicates they are completely mismanaged... all the way to the top. There is no single drum beat that the org is marching to, there are many small kingdoms with individual leaders reigning over their minions with fear... fear to keep in line with them, not the rest of the org. They think its normal to pressure teams to deliver on unrealistic goals. They will certainly burn everyone out (at least the ones that stay... many are already leaving).
