I worked at Appco Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked as a Sales Reprentative and Professional Fundraiser at a Appco Group direct marketing agency in Pasadena, CA. The experience was definitely very formative, however it depends largely on the "Leader" you are paired with. I was luckily paired with a very good "Leader" so my experience was very beneficial, particularly for future sales positions. Other pros include:
    - dynamic and fun work environment
    - formative and extensive training process (however this depends on who trains you)

    Cons

The recruitment and training process is not organized and can be very chaotic. Management does not always recruit often which makes the promotional process slow. Often times leaders are not accountable for their training process.

    Advice to Management

Streamline recruitment practices, higher standards for recruitment, training, and retention.

    Pros

At first coworkers seemed friendly but soon enough ugly truth revealed itself when people talk garbage about each other in the back

    Cons

Pretty much every negative reviews here had said about it

    Advice to Management

    You suck

I worked at Appco Group full-time

    Pros

The people who work there do their best to make you feel part of the group

    Cons

Long hours, very little pay and if you want to earn more, you have to go door to door and "pitch" people about some cause or another and make them give up their hard-earned money. It's a multi-level marketing scam and I quit after a week and a half because my conscience couldn't handle ripping off people after i realized what im doing,

    Pros

Everyone you work with is very nice and truly like family. Meetings are actually fun. It's somewhat easy to work your way up in the company

    Cons

ENDLESS walking. ENDLESS. Terrible pay. (Far less than minimum wage). Selling something that no one wants. Did I mention the ENDLESS walking? Trust me, there are much better sales jobs out there

    Pros

You're surrounded by great people that are nice, caring and informative. I got really skinny from walking so much, the skinniest summer of my life since high school.

    Cons

It's just a pyramid scheme that makes you walk for hours in scorching heat, frigid cold and in the ugliest shade of green you can think of.
I would approach potential clients doors dripping in sweat and that alone would turn everyone off while the ones at the top of the pyramid got to spend their days doing what they wanted and spending the money we made for them.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront with what you're trying to do before people apply. I understand that selling door to door is not a glamorous job but you have to be more transparent about the actual job. You made me walk for 6.5 hours in business casual attire as my first interview. What the actual fuck??
    Get it together.
Oh, and the motivational meetings in the mornings were REALLY tiring. As if we didn't have to walk all day anyway, but we're forced to stand for almost 2 hours before we do all the walking? I've always hated you for that.
