I worked at Appirio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Teammates and managers that cared and supported you as a whole person, not just as a worker bee. Remote work possible on days you needed it. Office snack selection was excellent. Office location was convenient for attending shows and sports events within walking distance after work.

    Cons

Wipro killed the culture. I know what you are thinking, "Quit playing ping pong and do your job, you whiney millennials!" It's not about that. I hate ping pong and don't drink beer. I'm not some Silicon Prairie ultra-brah. Appirio spent time and money helping it's employees be the very best, without fear of attrition because it knew that the employee experience was so good that even with the Salesforce tower right down the street Appirio couldn't be beat. The culture of "just get the work done" without micromanaging the how. We were treated like professionals, not children. Switched from Google to Office 365 with a few weeks notice without any consideration for how that would affect our workflow. Appirio has a Google practice, but was no longer using Google. Cool. Then came timesheets, for a team that didn't bill hours. My team was a square peg for Wipro's round holes. No longer reimbursing for failed certification attempts. Before the official policy was you got your first 2 tries paid for. The funny part about that is, with Salesforce a first attempt is $200 and retries are $100. So if you fail your first and pass your second it only costs them $100. Really discourages achievement. Especially since the salaries are nothing special. I was making 15-25% less than equally qualified friends at Salesforce. Teammates from other practices were sold like cattle to Alight. People sitting 10 feet from me no longer worked for the same company. Right at the end of the fiscal year. Gotta make that bottom line.

I have been working at Appirio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people here are wonderful. Honest, collaborative, and make the company what it is. There is a lot of room to learn, grow, and experiment. Like the lack of micromanagement and how colleagues, managers, etc. make themselves available.

    Cons

The migration and churn have been a big blow to morale.

I have been working at Appirio part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I started working in the early spring of 2019 and love my job! With the Wipro influence, there are endless opportunities for Appirians across the organization. My manager has been very supportive and is quick to get involve to support me in any challenging situations as they arise. I have no intentions of going elsewhere and would recommend my family and friends to work at Appirio.

    Cons

The system migration from Google to Microsoft has been a challenge, with some hiccups and bumps along the road, but the end is in sight and Appirio ELT is quick to get involved to escalate as needed.

I have been working at Appirio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Can be very flexible working from home. -Deep knowledge of SFDC and related technologies will allow you to learn a lot while working here. -Biweekly team calls keep you informed about what's going on in the company. -Strong sense of community. -Relatively easy to try new things and get involved internally.

    Cons

-IT systems are very difficult and confusing to navigate. -Focus seems to be shifting away from customer centricity and delivery excellence to sales, how much $ the company can pull in, and how quickly it can do that. -Being part of a larger organization (Wipro) results in an "above average" amount of internal politics. -Pay and benefits could be better. -Company is transitioning from startup mode to enterprise mode - and that fact on its own is not a con. However, many long time employees are holding onto the startup mentality, which causes lots of complaining and low morale. -New CEO and ELT seems less engaged than they used to be.

I have been working at Appirio full-time for less than a year

    Pros

+ Remote work, and flexibility, especially within consulting world + Variety of work and projects (and ability to request project changes) + Investment in employee growth with training, certifications, special projects + Wealth of internal knowledge and focus on expertise + Generally positive and good culture - especially hard to find within consulting! + Great benefits + Strategic alignment with Salesforce, and very strategic in the market Overall, Appirio is an amazing company to work for. The variety in projects, internal work, and teams keeps things fresh and exciting - and employees have constant challenge to grow and develop. In contrast with many consulting organizations, Appirio has a positive, team focused culture. You won't find the cutthroat, backstabby, win at all costs here that can be found in some consulting organizations - and employee health and balance is truly valued. The company is evolving, and so reviews may highlight negative aspects of growth and change - but these are at the heart of growth, and consulting. Appirio is very strategic, and forward thinking, and continues to be an amazing place to work.

    Cons

    - Wipro integration has been somewhat clunky - Culture can be heavily project team driven - instead of org driven (this is more general to consulting, and not specific to Appirio)

I worked at Appirio full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Somewhat decent benefits. Work remotely.

    Cons

Wipro's culture has completely replaced Appirio's and not for the better. Appirio was a great place to work but Wipro apparently paid half a billion to kill it. Their mentality is to throw key-punching contractor bodies at projects all for bargain basement rates. Good luck with that! They had 3 years to prepare for system integration between Appirio and Wipro. It was rolled out at the beginning of this year which turned out to be a huge mess. Very little in the Wipro "portal" seems to work as it is supposed to.

I have been working at Appirio full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Used to be The Culture Used to be The Transparency Used to be The Ease of Navigating (systems, processes, internal politics, etc) Used to be The CEO and leadership team

    Cons

Diversity and inclusion is a joke. You have a bunch of Indian men who don't respect women or your input and they constantly over promise and under deliver. You will be asked to put together lots of documents they will never consume. Nuisance busy work that doesn't impact the bottom line. Working internally is so daunting and complex. You spend time listening to 'clout' stories..."I know the CEO of XYZ company personally." And it (those relationships) will never help you close business. Collaboration is a joke. The Appirians that stuck around are easier to collaborate with vs. the Wipro folks.

I have been working at Appirio full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Everything was awesome, then Wipro purchased them.

    Cons

Wipro has changed this company so much that it's unrecognizable. They sold the Workday and Cornerstone practices, consolidated support roles and marketing, and now are going to stop using G suite and Salesforce. This company use to eat it's own dog food, which set it apart from the rest...those days are gone.

I have been working at Appirio full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Remote work. Front line managers, for the most part, are very hands-off and allow you to get your work done how you feel fit.

    Cons

Appirio has completely transformed in a severely negative way from March 2019 to the present. All systems, policies, and procedures were switched over to Wipro's and have all taken a huge step backward. The Wipro systems are antiquated with UI from the '80s. Bonus compensation for consultants has been drastically reduced. Most policies and procedures are either undefined or so complex it takes a lawyer to decipher them. Travel expenses, for which as someone working for a consulting company you will have a lot of, are taking multiple months to be reimbursed to people. That means you will literally spend money, easily thousands of dollars, for work travel and you have no idea when Appirio/Wipro will reimburse you for this. Leadership has lost all sense of transparency. Company calls are filled with happy talk with hardly any mention of the actual issues most employees are facing. Two co-founders recently left the company. Yet, upper management did not make any announcement about this until it was there very last day. Chris Barbin, who was Appirio's original CEO but left in 2018 to work for Wipro directly, left Wipro and again no announcement was made to the company until well after Barbin left. The new company CEO, Andy Chaudhuri, is all but absent from the organization. During the company calls, which would be his opportunity to be the face of the company for its employees, he only makes a brief appearance and leaves the vast majority of the calls to others. Apprio pitches to clients their capabilities with tranforming the worker experience. Internally they've done just that, except they've transformed it into a monotonous culture that's steaming with attrition.
