I worked at Apple part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team atmosphere, fun company, awesome products, fluid work environment.

    Cons

Management skills depend entirely on the branch, customers can test patience.

    Advice to Management

Check in more frequently with employees, however, this seems to be more of a branch-to-branch issue.

I worked at Apple part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers, mostly competent management, fun to work with a product you genuinely like to use, opportunity for a little advancement: you're probably not going to go from specialist to senior manager but maybe in a couple years you'll be working behind the genius bar. Lots of full time spots available (at least in 2012).

    Cons

the usual retail cons: hours suck, pay is low (although this is the best paying retail job I could find), customers can be rude/entitled. The culture can get weird, especially for store meetings, teambuilding, etc.

    Advice to Management

I know you think you have to do it all by the book, but bend the rules a little more often (especially senior managers and store leaders) and I think you'll have happier workers.

I worked at Apple part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Flexible hours, plenty of opportunities for shifts
    - Many opportunities to get more involved with store operations including but not limited to the Visual team, teaching workshops, and mentoring.
    - 401k for part timers!!
    - Incredible team atmosphere
    - Excellent training
    - Room for professional growth

    Cons

Aside from holiday hours in a retail store (which is to be expected because it's RETAIL), the starting hourly wage was on the low side.

    Pros

The people, the products, and the company. Almost every week when I go into work I meet new people who amaze me about what they can do. The products speak for themselves. And the discounts also help out a college student who is pressed for money. Speaking of money, the pay is great, starting at 10.50 in retail, with room to get raises almost every 4 months. Working for the best company in the electronic industry that cares about its people, its roles, and its products so much that if they dont make you say "wow, thats amazing", they dont do it. Apple is an amazing company that breaks down barriers everyday.

    Cons

People wanting to know when the new iphone/ cpu will be out/ every 1 out of every 100 customers will be bitchy, but other than that, enriching peoples lives everyday and helping people with the tools that they need to accomplish amazing feats always feels good. INFORMATION. Knowing all of the stats of everything, how much memory, how much ram, whats applecare? Whats 1-to-1? needing to know the ins and outs of everything is tough, but its worth it. And learning all of the job titles and the roles of the store are kind of hard, but when you know the way that it works better, it helps you do your job much more efficiently.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what they do
