I worked at Apple full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It pays very well for a retail job, the work is straight forward, and you don't have to take your work home with you

    Cons

The culture will kill your soul. They want to talk about the company being progressive and open but those are ambiguous buzz words designed to get the most work out of you for the least amount of investment. They will not follow through on their nice words.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are underpaid and overworked, when you pretend otherwise it only destroys morale

I have been working at Apple full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Overtime work
    Benefits
Free fruit twice a week before it’s all gone within a minute
    Get an Apple Badge

    Cons

    Nepotism
    Glorified Genius Bar role
    Privileges all been revoked
Culture has changed into an entry level call center
Literally a clock in and clock out micromanaged place
Get lifers still there trying to make the place inept and bureaucracatic for job security
HR and upper management is oblivious to what’s going on since it’s such a low level job

    Advice to Management

Morale is so low and this job is very easy. The good Apple name has been tarnished because of the incompetence and entrusting people who kiss up. It’s maybe time to do some reflecting because people’s careers are being sabotaged by using all of their sick days, medical leave requests, and leaving at a rapid rate.

I worked at Apple full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Provided a good opportunity to support my family. I am thankful for that. The pay and benefits are above average.

    Cons

The expectation for a store leader to work 40 hours a week is totally unrealistic. Work/ life balance is horrible. It is also definitely true that people leave bosses not jobs

I have been working at Apple full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great Pay!
    No Commute!
    Great Benefits
    And it stops right there!

    Cons

Micromanagement to the point of irritation. Managers who are not knowledgeable. Constant rude customers who swear, demean, and yell at you on almost every call. Dealing with customer who have valid reasons for being upset due to subpar products and software, and having to pretend that the customer is wrong.
Shift bids every 2 months which are based on CSATs and other unattainable metrics. Working with contract employees who have had little to no training. Not allowing customers to access their own information due to some false sense of security. I would not recommend this job to anyone who wants to have work-life balance, pride in the company they work for, a support team, or a sense of self-respect at the end of the day. I am in the Pre-management program and cannot wait to change things at Apple for the better.

    Advice to Management

Take a moment to remember when you were in our shoes. Try not to focus solely on metrics. Do not encourage your customers to lie to their customers. Support your employees, have open and honest dialogue, and treat your employees like humans.

I worked at Apple full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits. Excellent employee discounts.

    Cons

No home life at all. Mandatory overtime required. Management positions are filled from outside. Once you make T2 you will stay there as they want you on the phones. Had one of many managers asking us to help him get his equipment setup. In 4 years I went through over 20 managers.

    Advice to Management

Technical support managers should know something about tech support. Promote from within the company.

Listen ... I'm done with Apple...

I'm literally deprogramming myself away from this company. I will say this to those of you aspiring to work there.

THIS IS NOT THE APPLE YOU REMEMBER! This is just another company which happened to inherit the brand and legacy of the Apple of old.

Men: You will need to adopt more feminine attributes to succeed here.
     Manly Men, Need not apply.

Women: You will be fine for the most part and then you will be "Put in your place" as well because you are a woman.. And this new apple doesn't like strong women..I know, it sucks but i'm only telling you what to expect... I'm JUST the messenger and am telling you what i've seen consistently happen with this company.

    CONSLUSION
Work here at your own risk, It will be a nice long run, but when it ends...it will be painful, and cold.

If you are considering working here, that alone tells me that You can do better than this shell of a company that once was amazing.

Promotions only happen if you know somebody
Pay raises don't adjust with inflation, or cost of living.
Calls come in every 10 seconds for 8hrs..(let that sink in)

BEWARE THE KOOL-AID (THEY WILL BRAINWASH YOU)
TONS OF PEOPLE ON MEDICAL LEAVE FOR MENTAL DISABILITY...IT'S REAL.

    Advice to Management

    You won't take it..

You've ruined a once great company... Go ahead and flush it down the tube with your careers.

I have been working at Apple full-time

    Pros

You get apple on the resume, does wonders when you use it as leverage for your next position. That's about it.

    Cons

There are a few managers here that will literally harass their employees into not talking to other teams. So much political infighting. If you try to do well in your job, you will be looked down upon. Manager constantly thinks you will take his spot.

Insecure lower level managers, no technical skills at all, they act like they know it all but really have no idea how to even code a proper piece of software.

Harassment is widespread here. There is even one manager who has been accused multiple times of sexually advancing on to females inappropriately, but HR has done nothing. I can validate this sentiment others have shared on Glassdoor as well - it is true unfortunately.

Only reason I'm still here is because of the RSUs. Once they vest, it will be good riddance for sure.

    Advice to Management

Remove the cancer. Look at internal/HR reviews from employees for hints.
