I have been working at Apple full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great job for a year or two max...the people you meet are great and the stock plan is awesome, even the company values are great. Customers in my store were usually very fun to work with, rare crazy mad people.

    Cons

Hours suck, work every weekend and holiday (duh its retail) gets very repetitive and you are stuck doing your managers job half the time while being a leader in sales every quarter...zero bonuses for all the massive sales you do while leadership gets bonus after bonus for YOUR PERFORMANCE.

    Advice to Management

Start paying your top tier employees more...I am not the only one leaving, many have expressed similar feelings. No bonus for the $1.3million I see every quarter...laughable for a company that has 250 BILLION in the bank. Recently turned into a numbers, numbers, numbers environment.

I have been working at Apple full-time

    Pros

    fairly decent pay, clean office,

    Cons

very very unorganized. I am spending/wasting twice or more time/effort to do the same job that I could have spent much less elsewhere. For an example, there are multiple sources of information that aren't well indexed. Worse, a lot of things are not documented because of the culture of 'less documentation the better'

I have been working at Apple full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - decent competitive pay and good benefits
    - connecting with customers is sometimes fun and rewarding
    - one of the easiest jobs to work for the pay
    - requires no experience in tech

    Cons

    - poor leadership: unsupportive and lack of genuine approach
    - lots of ambiguity; dealing with lack of communication is common
    - the job is robotic/routine so be prepared to do the same thing all the time
    - strong work ethic and efforts goes unnoticed and unrewarded
    - doesn't provide a stimulating environment to be challenged or to grow with the company
    - rude customers are VERY common, and almost always get what they want

    Advice to Management

work on providing better supportive leaders, provide employees who work hard and learn quickly the ability to grow and develop into new roles or positions. stimulation, variety, and encouragement are vital in keeping employees happy in their roles

I have been working at Apple (Less than a year)

    Pros

Money, benefits are decent, small discount on stocks. They make an effort with a wellness center to help reduce the very unhealthy people

    Cons

Advancement is very slow for those not in the popular group. It's who you k ow, not what you know that will get you ahead. No weekends off, work most holidays, last shift stays until 10pm sometimes.

    Advice to Management

When you make a promise. Keep it. When something is said in confidence, keep it to yourself. Be honest instead of stringing us along. What happened to the apple culture that drew me to this job? Also, seeing so many co workers getting fired makes us nervous. Watching coworkers moving to different companies leads us to believe they did not see a future there . We would like the same treatment you want us to provide to customers

I worked at Apple part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will work with some of the most amazing people you've ever met. There will come a time when you see them more than your own family and friends

    Cons

Management is racist, homophobic, toxic energy. They do not care about the employees. They don't even like their own colleagues.

    Advice to Management

    Listen

I worked at Apple full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay. Schedule options. You talk to people from all over the world. Great discounts on products!

    Cons

Every few months you have a different manager and new team. Very sexists company men move up in the company quicker than women. High turn around. You'll get burned out of calls quicker than anything. They start people out in the iOS department but they don't tell people in order to move up in the company you have to go through Mac department first and thats when people start going on FMLA or they just quit!

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone the same stop moving certain people to different departments if someone isn't doing well in one department they should have the option to try a different one out instead of being faced with quitting or getting fired.

I worked at Apple full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay for starting out my career.
    Teaches a lot of skills.
    Flexible management.
    Teaches professional culture.
My colleagues are some of the best people I've worked with in all of the jobs I've held thus far.

    Cons

The amount of compensation vs work are eventually imbalanced.
Management delegates a majority of their work to employees, because they seem to not care or want to do tedious tasks.

    Advice to Management

I wish they gave better advice for elevating their team to other roles within the company. At certain points it seems that they don't care about their employees development.
Secondly, management seems to only do things they enjoy and things that they do not enjoy they hand off employees that are seeking advancement.

    - Micro-managing
    - Minimal development from management
    - Pressure to put in more work with no incentives or rewards
    - Crazy work hours

    Advice to Management

    - Employees need to have a higher degree of autonomy
