I have been working at Apple full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment, working with cross functioning teams, collaboration with peers, business networking events, flexible floor presence

    Cons

Generally undervalued, constantly fighting the perception that we don't do anything by those that don't understand the B2B work environment

    Advice to Management

Follow a business expert for 1 hour and watch their work flow. After that, spend 1 hour attempting to fill their role. Make a phone call, position complex solutions, and confidently set expectation with customers that don't have time to waste (wasted time costs them a lot of money).

I have been working at Apple full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great and devoted to success. The work is unlike anything else anywhere else in the world. There are opportunities for non-work events that are super rare.

    Cons

There is a distinct separation between management and direct reports. They cannot provide a growth path or career development options. Conflicting messages if looking outside your group on what you can or can't do.

I worked at Apple part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, good pay for retail

    Cons

Culture is changing, things are becoming much more standardized and the soul of the company is no longer there. Managers are always looking at you and timing your breaks.

    Advice to Management

Relax, stop trying to be like Burberry.

I have been working at Apple full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are still some smart people in engineering

    Cons

Too much process, schedule driven to a point where we can't ship high quailty products anymore.
Difficult to transition between roles at the company.
No opportunities to advance, especially if you are not willing or able to put in 70+ hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Please go back to the customer-focused track we used to have with Steve. It is more important to ship a quality product than it is to ship on time.

    Pros

Apple is a good company. The pay is decent. You get good benefits.
They make sure you get your training.

    Cons

    Get ready for micromanagement.
Point system attendance. Find out their attendance policy and not just what your TM states.
    You work for your benefits.
    Long hours.
    You must be everything Apple.
You can develop some help issues while working from a desk all day.
Some workers are down right rude & disrespectful.
Leave emotions at the door when dealing with mean customers.
Your Team lead will never "know" anything. Take all issues higher for more feedback.
    HR lacks moral.
You can be placed in the back of the line when it comes to individuality.
    You may feel robotic.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you don't glorify just the positive Apple outlook with workers because you are selling dreams.

    - Busses are comfy

    Cons

    - Too many people involved in projects, lotsa managers not enough doers
    - Bureaucratic processes
    - No one seems to be held accountable for anything
    - Higher management's aim is to avoid being blamed for something that went wrong instead of working on something they believe in
    - Lots of politics
    - Lots of complacency
    - No windows in offices. Feels like a hamster wheel inside.

    Advice to Management

    - Marcom needs more female creative leaders
