I worked at AppleOne (More than a year)

    Pros

Were somewhat supportive during an incident that occur with their client, Hydropoint Data Systems.

    Cons

Had informed me that the temp-to-hire position was for help desk but was not the case. After turning in my letter of complaint and having quit my job, I have not heard from them since the last update for job openings.

    Advice to Management

Be more involve with your client regarding the working conditions with Hydropoint Data Systems. Their client constantly have been micro-managing their temps and the lack of proper training makes it even more difficult work with them.

I worked at AppleOne full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company creed of finding and fulfilling the needs of another resonates strongly. Stability. Great feeling supporting a company that finds people employment.

    Cons

Willingness to train, grow, and learn is stymied from the very top levels. Too many management layers worried about saving face to each other. Not enough 'worker' layers (junior, regular, senior, etc). Unwillingness to address problems in favor of 'that's just how we do it'.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be wiling to manage. It is there responsibility to keep up to date, and train employees - or have employees trained, and trust their feedback.

Pay freezes are more frequent than blizzards on the east coast. If you want quality, pay quality.

When the CEO goes on record publicly stating that companies need to take care of their employees, and then the same week removes benefits and implements pay freezes - it hurts twice as much.

I worked at AppleOne full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is easy. They were able to place me based on my experience quickly. I was a temp to hire. I am still with the placed company. I would go through Apple One again.

    Cons

As this was new to me, I did not understand the process and my expectations were not realistic. I accept responsibility for not asking more questions but I didn't know to ask.

    Advice to Management

Explain in detail temp to hire process.

I have been working at AppleOne full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great sales and recruiting training, very comprehensive and hands on approach. Gives you great career skills.
Extensive autonomy. You get to choose what to specialize in and which industries to pursue.
No cap on commission earned, if you put your mind to it you could make a lot of money.
A lot of growth opportunities, very much merit based advancement.
Company culture is great, hard to not get along with everyone.

    Cons

Base pay is quite low, they say it's enough to keep the lights on and the real money should be coming from your commission, but the industry has highs and lows throughout the year. When it's good it's good, but when it's bad it's bad. Can become unstable if you do not balance out your billing clients.
Long hours. Not your typical 9-5 job. Expect to be held to a strict schedule and have your hours monitored weekly even though it's a salary position.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want your offices to be revolving doors for recruiters and account executives, increase the base pay. It's great taking home $2000+ commission checks every blue moon, but difficult to keep it going when the market for professional staffing is down and you have real obligations to meet.

I have been working at AppleOne as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have contracts with some of the best potential employers, flexibility and recruiters who care about you as much as the clients they are trying to find qualified candidates for. They care very much about their employees and their staff and it is reflected in the way you are treated with caring and consideration.

    Cons

Desire to find permanent job based on past experience not age.

    Advice to Management

Consider all candidates based on their qualifications. Not age or race.
