I have been working at Applebee's full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Applebee's is often a trendsetter in the casual dining industry (2 for $20, dollar drinks, etc). They offer contests and incentives for managers and hourlies. They are starting to go back to their roots by offering consistent food at a decent price.

    Cons

Training program for hourlies is too intensive all while not providing them the knowledge needed to be successful out of training. Agendas and Apple U site is too unorganized. Your experience will be based on the franchise you work for. In my experience, managers are expected to to cut stafging levels to the bare minimum and pick up the slack all while maintaining guest satisfaction, food safety, and putting out "fires" left and right. Management staffing levels are cut too so sometimes you are there alone during the busiest hours. SPAs are not indicative of actual day to day performance. Its just a 3 hour dog and pony show.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be fancy and do what you do best. Riblets, fiesta lime chicken, etc. Dollar drinks are not bringing people in anymore they are just perpetuating the problem.

Constant new menu rollouts have a negative impact on the gust and employees.

    Advice to Management

Constant menu changes have a huge impact on business operations, I just think they need to be reduced.
