    Advice to Management

It'd be great to bump up the wage for your FOH employees.

    I worked at Applebee's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hiring and interview process was pretty fast, and the management was flexible to work with my schedule. Great position for both experienced and new servers or food staff.

    Cons

The work environment itself was very negative and filled with drama the servers who had been working there the longest got the best sections which meant that if you were newly hired you were put in terrible sections with low support, and were unlikely to make any money by the end of the evening. Also having to tip out to food staff or bartenders when they made more than me.

    Advice to Management

Give more support or opportunities to work for servers who are struggling in their sections.

    I worked at Applebee's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

employee shared despair created great humor

    Cons

horrible management practices and a very disrespectful attitude towards waitresses. Borderline demeaning from some managers.

    Advice to Management

All male management should be very closely monitored when they only hire young teenage-early 20 something girls for lower positions. To say some managers were creepy would be an understatement.

    I worked at Applebee's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Shift meal. Decent pay for starting managers.

    Cons

The guests are terrible. Expect something for free every time. Mind you that Applebee's are often in Wal Mart parking lots, and attract the same kinds of people. It is the clientele they are shooting for.
If your Area Director doesn't like you, they will find any excuse whatsoever to fire you. It is a terrible atmosphere to work in. Highly stressful. No fun.

    Advice to Management

Pay and benefits are the one reason anyone even works for this company. They have a horrible reputation for churning and burning managers.

    Pros

With all the locations in the Richmond area there is greater opportunity for relocation and advancement. The medical/benefits package offered is better than most corporate restaurants in this area.

    Cons

As a manager; long hours with no compensation for time exceeding fifty hours / week, the hourly labor budget is so low you end up doing all the work yourself, the bonus program is designed to only be hit by stores in high volume areas.

    Pros

    Cash money every night
Get to meet lots of people. Sometimes beneficial, sometimes not.
    Dynamic work environment
    Fast paced environment

    Cons

Management sucks. They care about nothing but themselves
    The money varies.
Favoritism plays a huge role in the politics there.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your employee's. Evaluate them on what they are doing right instead of being rude when they do the first thing wrong.
