I worked at Applied Engineering Services full-time

    Pros

    * Work culture (Professional, friendly and respectful)
    * Career Growth (P.E license required for any growth as engineer and there are many P.E's to help you)
    * Minimal politics (If you work hard you are safe)

    Cons

    * Kind of cut throat when it comes to laying off
    * Struggled a lot during recession and still struggling to feed employees
    * Salaries won't increase by much (Same case in many Consulting and construction industries)

    Advice to Management

The company asks employees to feel the company as their own company and work harder but for less reward and pay no employee would feel that he needs to do that. Pay well and get more work.

I have been working at Applied Engineering Services full-time

    Pros

Management really makes everyone feel like part of the family. Great work-life balance, minimal overtime, ability to work from home when needed, profit sharing through annual bonuses. Quick to supply you with the resources you need to do your job (software, training, books, etc.). Pays for license renewals and membership dues to professional organizations. Smart business practices = stable work environment...no fear of layoffs like at many other local firms.

    Cons

Traffic can get a bit heavy during the holidays since the building is located behind a shopping mall.
