I worked at Applied Industrial Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly company, top management was great but unfortunately they made me report to person not knowledgeable with SAP Security

    Cons

Reported to person not familiar with SAP, no negative testing was done by implementer, lots of errors in design which started to be discovered when i took over. I had to prove to CIO all the errors. They were in quick acquisition mode and we had to copy old roles role and go live every 3 moths which just multiplied errors.

    Advice to Management

Get more knowledgeable security folks and don''t let them report to politician.

    Cons

EVERYTHING if you enjoy stress and health problems and basically hating your life go ahead accept the job

I worked at Applied Industrial Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Groups outside of Finance team great to work with.

    Cons

Finance organization supervisors and management lack team building, knowledge sharing . Supervisors and managers talk about employees negatively, processes are ineffective, supervisors expect employees to clean up their errors . Finance team environment hostile, lacks true professionals .

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, if you have high turnover it is a management, leadership, company wide issue . Regardless of why employees chose to leave...they left . HR is just as ineffective.

I worked at Applied Industrial Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great overall company, good benefits and great workers.

    Cons

Upper Management in certain regions from the Regional Manager up to the President needs to be changed out. The company treats employees like a number in the computer not a human being. Pay is less then it should be compared to other companies. Lacks loyalty to even long term employees. Very low moral.

    Advice to Management

Waste of time, the bottom line is the only thing that matters due to the board and shareholders. If you have another opportunity with another company, take it you may be happier with your decision.

I worked at Applied Industrial Technologies full-time

    Pros

Great pay, paid my relocation costs. Always 40 hours a week.

    Cons

Regional Sales Manager can not control his territory. Always fighting between branches. Plays Favorites and does not have his employees best interest at heart. He is focused on keeping corporate happy and that is it.

    Pros

There is opportunity for growth in the company if you take initiative.

    Cons

High-level stress; Sink or swim type of industry

    Advice to Management

Instead of managing people, try leading them

    Pros

    Great pay
    Travel
    Industrial working environments
    They'll promise you training.

    Cons

No Training. If you don't have an engineering background or your hydraulic certifications, don't bother. They will promise you training, then hand you some books and tell you there's google.
Management isn't helpful. You've got to ask questions, and then you're judged for asking questions. They appear helpful in the beginning, then they watch you fall.
You can work hard and still be asked to leave. Then they'll tell whoever that you've lied on call reports.
No interaction from upper management after you're hired. Chain of command is the only way. And that doesn't work because local management isn't on your side.

    Advice to Management

Don't report exceptional monthly numbers, then fire a guy for poor performance.
Provide goals and the support to learn.

I have been working at Applied Industrial Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is investing in me and others. I like that the company is giving me the chance to train and advance. Surprised more people are not taking advantage of the training. My co-workers are willing to share their knowledge and help me when I have questions.

    Cons

Have to know where to look to get some of the tools. You can ask but it seems like not everyone has caught on to what company is offering.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more to us. Help people like me get up to speed faster and keep rewarding performance.

    Cons

Cant really complain much, Pay is low but about equal for the job position which is why I left.
     No Complaints

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow the service centers and speak to the little people that get things done so you can continue to get a bonus

I worked at Applied Industrial Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great product to work with, computer system easy to use. Good people to work with.

    Cons

Management was corrupt, allowed to damage a persons career and blackball good employees for life.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention when you start loosing multiple employees due to a manager and don't make a person un-reinstate-able, or allow a manager to have that much power. Look at the employee's record.
