    Pros

Applied has a lot of great scientists and engineers. It remains its leadership in material engineering and leading equipment supplier for semiconductor industries.

I worked at Applied Materials full-time

    Pros

If you perform well, you have lots of latitude on how you do your work. Lots of opportunities to try different work approaches. Pays well, good bonuses. No micromanaging.

    Cons

Top-down decisions made with little regard for how it affects the line. Very volatile - lots of reorganizations and layoffs. Very competitive environment. Sometimes coworkers feel like competition.

    Advice to Management

Consider the impact of reorgs. They cost a lot of money and work time but seem to generally be about creating a perception of change rather than real change.
