    Pros

Work wih top of the line semiconductor tools.

    Cons

based on a good ol' boy status, if you are not buddies with managers or experienced personnel then you won't be around long. Also, work is based upon customer contract so work goes as fast as it comes.

I have been working at Applied Materials full-time

    Pros

very nice and friendly culture. very engineering/technology oriented company. can really learned a lot as NCG. global exposure. had experience in working with global team.

    Cons

the industry was kind of saturated. but Amat was actually still doing much better than average, being the top leader in the industry. the age mix does not have many young professionals.

    Advice to Management

broaden the technology applications to more divers industry. generally not too much advises to the management, doing pretty well overall.

    Pros

Loved that my co-workers were enthusiastic about their work. Culture was wonderful at the company.

    Cons

Job security did not seem great at AMAT. Always a question of where the semiconductor industry is headed.

    Advice to Management

I think that the management should have more opportunities to try different projects within the company. I also believe that the management should offer more benefits to the employees.

    Pros

Work schedule is highly flexible allowing for nice work/life balance. Very intelligent peers make going to work a pleasure. Challenging projects keep the brain sharp.

    Cons

This is a large company so navigating through numerous databases, business software, and typical red tape for approvals can slow business down.

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire excellent employees. Retain them by modeling the benefits of other silicon valley companies. Build the camaraderie through offsite events, etc.

I worked at Applied Materials full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of overtime when coverage is needed

    Cons

low on staff, management barely spends any time with the employees to improve the quality of production. Too many people pointing the finger when they should point the finger at themselves. No room for growth. Doesn't matter how good you been with the company they will drop you in a heartbeat. (Volt Agency)

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people that actually take there job seriously instead of creating more work for one person.
