    - talented colleagues
    - good cafeteria and gym
    - decent learning opportunities and benefits
    - lateral opportunities are available due to many divisions

    Cons

    - expected to work long and hard always
    - paycheck to paycheck life in bay area even with PhD if you are not a manager

    Advice to Management

    Very few can work in crisis mode 24x7x365 for years...Pay more to working bees so that they have some hope about building financial security

    Great place to work if you enjoy the opportunity to be self-directed.

    Work gets pretty intense nearing project deadlines, not so much a con as just a reality.

    Pros

    Umm...our stock is high so ESPP is paying off
    Can't think of anything else...I'll be leaving as soon as possible.

    Cons

    Work 7 days a week, work every evening from home, work extremely early mornings. No ability to have any life at all.
    Good Old Boys club, does not accept new people
    Groups are not diverse and if you don't come from their culture you're treated horribly
    False HR reporting by team members and supported by Management
    Huge politics
    Poor HR Support
    Constant travel internationally

    Advice to Management

    Management does not care about their team members

    Pros

    Company clinic, paid holidays, paid time off, free company gym for employee use, employee stock purchase plan and 401k match

    Cons

    Unpaid company shutdown (July 4th week, 2 weeks during Christmas and New Year), low pay raise, not enough fun activities for employees

    Advice to Management

    Please appreciate employees (not only upper management) when company is doing well and reward accordingly

    Pros

    Great people and products. Global leader.

    Cons

    Constant focus on reducing costs has cost the company a lot. People are treated like expenses and not like assets. Constant layoffs

    Advice to Management

    Treat you employees like you actually care about them.Reduce your VP headcount. It's >100. Are you a bank?

    Pros

    Variety of different semiconductor equipment to choose from

    Cons

    The upper level CE's do not get raises anymore. Current management have obviously declared CE IV and CE V positions not worth keeping. My raises for average+ performance have yielded under 1% annual increases for several years while company has made record earnings.

    Advice to Management

    Too late to bother
