I have been working at Applied Medical full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The training & education is incredibly good, I have talked to tons of new hires and reps from other companies who have said our training is bar none to anyone else. District managers have been super helpful in aiding with meetings/product evaluations/contract discussions, etc. New positions typically comes from within and hard work is tapped for promotion from within the field. Excellent internal team who constantly evaluates commission plan and structure to best benefit the team. Having worked internally and in sales I would HIGHLY recommend Applied Medical as a long term career. Said is truly invested in the company & his enthusiasm is enough to keep a lot of people around. We also developed a team to train highly successful college students wanting to get into med devices and it is absolutely incredible.

    Cons

Lots of people say the pay/salary isn't up to par, but if you work hard and get some evaluations underway you can make a lot of money at Applied. Car reimbursement is generous, cell & internet paid for, office supplies, parking, etc. Only thing I would recommend is a little extra praise for our Territory Manager Associates who work super hard to support our team.

    Advice to Management

I have had AMAZING management so far, starting with internal management from the director of Finance to the Director of Expenses & VP of Operations and working hand in hand with the President of Applied Medical before transitioning into sales. I would say to our upper and senior management keep being extremely positive as everyone has been in the past despite setbacks and keep pushing forward. This is an excellent company to work for!

    Pros

If you are desperate to work and can not find a job elsewhere, then it might be a good place to start.

    Cons

Salaries are low, people are micro-managed, and salary increases does not happen on a timely manner for people other than outside the family ring.

    Advice to Management

Grow up, it is in your best interest. Treating people like kids and choosing favorites based on level of brownnosing is not the right way to manage and you will pay the consequences in the long run.

I worked at Applied Medical full-time

    Pros

They offer a relatively relaxed working environment.

    Cons

Avoid this company at all costs if you would like to succeed in this field. A lot of work that is performed there is grunt work. This company DOES NOT treat their companies with dignity. They have a tendency of blaming employees for mistakes made by upper management. Due to the inexperience held among upper management, the level of respect held between others can diminish quickly. There is a large amount of COMPANY POLITICS that is dealt with at this company. When I had put my two weeks notice in, they told me to leave THAT DAY. Very unprofessional considering a two weeks notice is normally a courtesy. Most engineers one stay for a year maximum.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees properly. Treat your workers with respect. Allow for opportunities for hardworking engineers to actually enter upper level management.
