    The training & education is incredibly good, I have talked to tons of new hires and reps from other companies who have said our training is bar none to anyone else. District managers have been super helpful in aiding with meetings/product evaluations/contract discussions, etc. New positions typically comes from within and hard work is tapped for promotion from within the field.     Cons

    Lots of people say the pay/salary isn't up to par, but if you work hard and get some evaluations underway you can make a lot of money at Applied. Car reimbursement is generous, cell & internet paid for, office supplies, parking, etc. Only thing I would recommend is a little extra praise for our Territory Manager Associates who work super hard to support our team.

    Advice to Management

    I have had AMAZING management so far, starting with internal management from the director of Finance to the Director of Expenses & VP of Operations and working hand in hand with the President of Applied Medical before transitioning into sales. I would say to our upper and senior management keep being extremely positive as everyone has been in the past despite setbacks and keep pushing forward. This is an excellent company...

    I have been working at Applied Medical full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Not micromanaged. Recruit great people. Not a churn and burn environment. Great for entry level med device reps or experienced reps looking to slow down.

    Cons

    Low pay, NO development, very limited access to information, no defined advancement track, expected to just figure it out. You receive comp plans for new year or new roles halfway thru your 1st Quarter in a position. Stay out of your managers hair and you won't be bothered as long as you can portray you know what you're doing.

    Advice to Management

    Don't think it matters to share thoughts.

    Too many to list, Here's a few. Bad business decisions at high level. Quality of product declining. Sales management untrustworthy.

    Good to have a job while looking for another.

    Cons

    Incompetent management makes for a toxic work environment. Do not work here. Wait for an opportunity with a reputable organization.

    Invest in your people especially those that represent your company in the field. Why no presidents club or awards for sales force?

    Pros

    Big bag with many specialties to on. Products are clinically equivalent to the competition. Good coverage on GPOs.

    Cons

    Worst compensation plan in the industry. Company grossly exaggerates compensation. Benefits are expensive and below average especially for medical company. Car allowance is low. Comp plan quota bonus is capped at 103%. Negative growth payback at higher percentage than growth payout.

    Advice to Management

    Change you philosophy on not paying for performance. Good people leave bc of management lies about compensation. Most of all stop being so CHEAP!!!!

    Well known although its for cheap products

    Cons

    Management takes no responsibility for anything that goes wrong in the territory. They hang the territory managers out in the wind to consistently save their own job.

    Advice to Management

    Care about the territory managers that put in all the work.

    Pros

    A few good, niche products. Great stepping stone. If you do well here you will excel at forward thinking, reputable company. PTO off verses vacation days, sick leave, etc. which gives nice flexibility. Manufacturing is local with easy access.

    Cons

    Nepotism is rampant. Brutal 3 week training by ex US Surgical Good Ol' boys club. Repays great performance and loyalty by firing someone on a whim yet keeps underperformers who "kiss butt." The company garners very little respect within the medical industry. Stock options that will never pay off. Definitely a "B" or "C" player.

    Advice to Management

    Hire new blood into management with a background other than a family member or old US Surgical employee. Bring pay up to industry standards. Reward performance not whoever kisses up the most. Stop changing benefits every year.
