      No opinion of CEO

I worked at Appraisal Institute full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Fair salary and benefits; decent work hours.

      Cons

Employees are not valued, little to no flexibility for reasonable accommodations. Middle management is inept, leaving team members to "manage up" or fight against a bottleneck.

I worked at Appraisal Institute full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Good benefits. Easy walk from either train station. A few opportunities for building good teams.

      Cons

I've never worked at an association before where the volunteer leaders are treated like royalty--we were actually instructed NOT to ever talk to a board or committee member, as if we were too stupid to say anything intelligent, even though we were the ones carrying out the work for the projects determined by the Board and the Committees. Advice to Management

Get over the "caste" system that's been created of those in power vs. those who are happy to still have a job day in and day out. Give credit where credit is due and find a CEO who truly cares about the staff and not just the volunteer leaders.

I worked at Appraisal Institute for more than a year

      Pros

You can do absolutely nothing and nobody will care, notice, pay attention. You can work your butt off and nobody will care (in fact, you only get scowls of disdain) Join the cast and crew of a reality series waiting to happen You can take long lunches and drink at lunch on Fridays. Casual days (woopie doo) you work 37 hrs/week

      Cons

Join the cast and crew of a reality Have to work on most major holidays (Martin Luther King for instance) Very slow, unchallenging pace Directors only steal credit for your work, never give praises or credit where credit is due (especially since you're not a 'Director' because you're a non entity) Directors here are delusional, unprofessional, disrespectful, bullyish, and talk down to anybody they think is beneath...
