I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I love the branch I work at, the people are great!! We all work really well together and as a team.; pay is pretty good too for home health.

    Cons

Customer Service has been outsourced to India and the Philippines, which makes it difficult for our older age patient's to communicate their needs. At the branch, we are always yelled at by patients due to this issue and losing our referrals because of this issue as well. Corporate needs to stop trying to cut corners and care more about their employees. If an idea didn't work the first time, chances of the same idea working 2 years later probably aren't going to work again.

    Advice to Management

Stop laying off your employees at the local levels, get rid of the awful customer services reps and keep the help that actually works and makes the company money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apria was a very fair company to work for. Regional Vice President of Sales was accessible and talented. There were opportunity for growth.

    Cons

There was a lot of turn over in operations. That made it difficult when relying on folks inside for support.

I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

VP of Department was great. She always helped when needed. Apria is great with promoting within so great advancement opportunities.

    Cons

To get the necessary work done in time it took an average of 9+ hours of work a day. Other Supervisors would lean on others to do the bulk of the work. Tough to carry the center with the other Supervisor outside smoking several times a day.

I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Apria is forward thinking and always planning for the future. Paid sick, personal plus vacation time is wonderful. For the smart go-getters there are opportunities for growth and even some positions that allow people to work from home. This may seem like a negative but requiring all qualifiing documentation prior to set up is a no brainer.

    Cons

Tough industry! Medicare reimbursements have an impact on everything! Recent cutbacks have forced several reductions in staff.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!
