I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Providing a needed service to patients in the home.

    Cons

Poor training that wasn't applicable to the role I was hired for, bad morale, on-going weekly changes to processes, pc system issues, unreasonable expectations within an 8 hour day, and poor pay for the responsibilities expected of associates.

    Advice to Management

Train to the role the employee was hired for, find more pleasant mentors to carry-on the training once the new employee is on the floor. This role was closer to case management than staffing and should be paid more. Settle on a process and give it time to work. If you are going to require on-going training (sometimes 2-3 courses a week) 1) schedule the time and 2) lower the requirements for meeting productivity. Teach your new hires the applications before you put them into production. Good Luck.

I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Corporate violates the law quite a bit so you may get paid out a settlement.

    Cons

Lack of substantial training and mentorship; All courses are online and contain dated material. Management doesn't understand the human element of the business.
Computer systems and warehouse inventory is outdated. Instead of investing in new technology to streamline processes, management pushed for salary employees to stay longer and cover the gaps. Hence why turnover in the logistics department is high.
Apria is not patient focus at all.
Lack of corporate leadership. Local branches are floating in space being pelted by asteroids with no support.
$5,000 deductible for health insurance? Who thought that was a great idea?
Constantly on call and barely compensated for it. Called for silly questions because everyone is afraid to make decisions.
Apria becomes a team sport when sales is involved. Other than that you're on your own.

    Advice to Management

Apria is a medical distribution company. Invest in logistics department and you will not have as many customer service issues. Stop dumping unnecessary administrative tasks on the logistics.

Management act your age and experience.

Get rid of the Riverside LCE. Most unprofessional and soft group of employees.

Bring back local customer service. Believe it or not the outsourced India and Philippine staff are more professional and easier to talk to than your stay at home staff

    Pros

Job security only if management likes you

    Cons

    No loyalty to employees.
Will replaced experienced, tenured employees with less to no experience employees to save cash yet still pay for large national meetings for middle management and higher. Metrics for bonuses are set so payouts are minimum.

    Advice to Management

Pay the little extra for experienced employees. Save the money in training as turnover is reduced.

    Pros

I want to be fair in this review, but I truly cannot think of one pro from working at this company.

    Cons

    - terrible upper management; they do not know what they are doing.
    - very negative culture and environment brought on by upper management.
    - does not appreciate their employees at all. Treats employees terribly.
    - no appraisal for doing anything right. Got 178% over quota and all they said was "not bad, do better."
    - very bad logistics and customer satisfaction. You will get lots of calls from customers who Apria messed up with and accounts who tell you that they "hate Apria."
    - no job security
    - unrealistic expectations

    Advice to Management

Change your entire business plan for the company and treat your employees with respect.
