I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Pay: Base plus commission and bonuses Product offering : several products and services to offer your accounts Good Training: Ongoing training to advance your comfort level with products and services

    Cons

Quotas: Your quota will keep going up and eventually unmanageable. Upper Management will just add numbers without even evaluating the changes in circumstances in your territory. If you have a weak branch- you will struggle with getting things done and goals accomplished. Constant changes: Apria wish to be the first to market with everything they do. Which leads to some backpedaling. Physicians get upset with... constant change in stories.

    Advice to Management

Get quotas to Reps on a timely manner, so they can make a game plan instead of constantly running behind the curve.

I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good experience in health care industry, can learn multitasking and outdoor sales skills if looking to get into higher paying medical sales positions and home healthcare positions.

    Cons

Company is unwilling to accept and work on flaws; non-supportive and non-caring employees that are responsible for processing and coordinating your orders and ultimately either making it a good or bad experience for your customers that refer you your patients. Management is guilty of being too PC even if causes your job to be more difficult than necessary because it would put your manager in an uncomfortable... situation by pointing out that something is not working correctly to their peers and leadership, a don't rock the boat while everything is going good for me mentality. They all expect you to eat dirt for your centers mistakes and try to make you feel responsible that is your duty to see everything from beginning to end while you are supposed to spend each day making 20 sales calls to accounts. Upper management will be fast to fire you for complaining about service center issues instead of investigating and working to resolve.

I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People at the branch level are good.

    Cons

outsourcing customer service, substandard equipment, Cowardly upper management

    Advice to Management

Take some advice from undercover boss. Be proactive with your workforce. Upper management seems to be "cowardly" when dealing with one of the most valuable parts of a company, its workforce. Sending employees to a website to keep up with the company and never see a person to discuss anything is poor. I believe personal "face to face" interaction should be a REGULAR and FREQUENT event on the part of upper... management (CEO and above) for any company to be a better company. The current attitude in a lot of companies, "We, being in charge, know what is best, since we have the credentials and you don't is arrogant and a good reason why companies that practice this philosophy suffer, and in a lot of cases, eventually go out of business. Just because you are the biggest, does not mean someone cannot come along and do it better. Just because you have a current business model you are following, does not mean you have to keep following it. I do not expect anyone in upper management to even read this or act upon it. I believe it would be in your best interest to do so. Thanks for reading.

I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I want to be fair in this review, but I truly cannot think of one pro from working at this company.

    Cons

    - terrible upper management; they do not know what they are doing. - very negative culture and environment brought on by upper management. - does not appreciate their employees at all. Treats employees terribly. - no appraisal for doing anything right. Got 178% over quota and all they said was "not bad, do better." - very bad logistics and customer satisfaction. You will get lots of calls from customers who Apria... messed up with and accounts who tell you that they "hate Apria." - no job security - unrealistic expectations
