I worked at Apriva part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Casual dress code. Great co workers in CS department. Connie from HR was very nice and helpful. The talent acquisition manager was always helpful when it comes to personal issues or even concerns regarding to work.

    Cons

HR is very opaque. When I needed to take a leave of absence I was told that I may not be able to come back even though I had an approval from my doctor and counselor when it was regarding to extreme depression and anxiety that resulted from my position. Call center positions are honestly very stressful and in my position I was handling everything that we do but new recruits were rarely trained to expand their knowledge and skill sets.

Management in CS weren't very helpful in terms of helping me move up to a more desired position that I was highly qualified for even though I worked there for three years.

    Advice to Management

Don't treat your customer service representatives like robots. Give them a little more leeway when they need to take personal breaks

I worked at Apriva full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A few smart people but stuck in the past with development and technologies. A few managers willing to listen and give the teams what they need to succeed.

    Cons

They don't get Scrum or any other agile methodologies for that matter as they are afraid to failure and time-box everything. Managers do not trust the development teams to drive their own future and happiness.

    Advice to Management

Trust your teams and stop micromanaging the Agile framework as this will ultimately fail but probably too late.

    Pros

Pay, benefits and not much else and yes so much else does matter

    Cons

Practically everything. The protection of ineffective employees is rampant. Executives have sought out and found their pet employees from within and guard them viciously whether or not they benefit the company or put forth any effort.

    Pros

A paycheck. Many exit doors, you'll want to run.

    Cons

Push gay agenda in your face. Buy it or get fired. Never seen a place like this before, didn't know such a place existed. Nausiating, demeaning, immoral.

    Advice to Management

Your upper management needs a psychological intervention.

I have been working at Apriva full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

POS business is growing and new President is a step in the right direction. IT has grown and finally addressing long neglected areas with new leadership team in place. Executives are trying.

    Cons

Need seasoned senior leadership, especially over the development organization. They work in a silo and won't pull in other teams. They blame everyone but themselves. Other teams are very frustrated. Too much turnover in Customer Care.

    Advice to Management

Set a unified vision across POS. Focus on building trust across all the teams and get rid of the dead wood. Too many untouchables that have been there for years.

I have been working at Apriva (More than a year)

    Pros

Apriva is a great company for which to work. The work culture is fantastic and the employees really help each other as opposed to competing.

    Cons

There are not really any downsides to working at Apriva. It is growing at a rapid rate, and there are so many new people that their names are hard to remember.

I worked at Apriva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting product opportunities and lots of great people.

    Cons

No clear direction from management. The few processes that are defined are not actually followed. Priorities change daily. Roles and Responsibilities are not defined and change on a whim. Poor communication and inconsistent notifications/communications between groups, which is sad considering the tiny size of the company.

    Advice to Management

Set clear business objectives, define business goals, set priorities and follow through on priorities.
