    Pros

Nicely priced healthcare benefits (vision and dental at a good price)

They seem to offer discount vacation deal via partner companies (however see the cons below if you are looking to be at a contract position)

    Cons

    No 401k matching for contractors

No PTO (no work/no pay...even if your company has closed holiday)

If you drop below a certain amount of hours a week you can potentially lose your health ins so if you are a contractor you need to make arrangements ahead of schedule with aquent and ins company,

    Advice to Management

You need to work on beefing up the perks for long term contract employees.

I worked at Aquent full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has the best benefits package I've ever had from an employer, and my managers on the software development team were also very accommodating of PTO requests and so on. After working for Aquent for a couple of years, I was permitted to work remotely, and everyone I worked with was very helpful in making the transition work. There were a lot of interesting projects that would come up from time to time, and being on a small team, you have a good chance of getting to develop a broad skill set. The developers have a relatively free rein to choose the solutions they feel are best, which has both good and bad aspects, but at least ensures that your technical worth won't dwindle while working on the team. The developers and associated business and QA teams work together in a very collaborative way.

    Cons

The software development team is rather small, so there aren't a lot of opportunities for upward mobility if that's your thing. There was also a bit of employee churn (developers) at the time I was there that also had an impact on overall direction and technology with the codebase. Having a lot of different requests and projects in the pipeline combined with changes in technology can be annoying from a strict software engineering perspective.

    Advice to Management

When you're working there, sometimes it's easy to get frustrated with the environment, but in hindsight, you actually do a really good job. Try to manage change effectively and don't assume that you need to adopt the next new thing, as what you have may not be all that bad.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Great benefits, compensation and resources available.

    Cons

    - Management only cares about metrics and putting people in positions. They won't share that with you while you interview with the company. Bottom line is that you are there to convince people to take jobs they don't want so you can make the company money.
    - There are no opportunities for growth internally.
    - Senior management is corrupt and sets un realistic goals.

    Advice to Management

If you find yourself doing all of the talking you are not being a great manager. Take a second to stop and listen to your employees and you will gain far more from that then what you are getting from talking the entire time.
Celebrate the success of your team rather than obsessing and spreading negativity when the company overall is not doing well. If your people are happy they will perform for you. Otherwise everyone will not enjoy your and fake it when you are around.
