I have been working at Aramark part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are supposedly some great benefits as far as employee discounts that apply to services outside of work, but I've never looked into them. I also believe they're for full-time employees as well.

    Cons

Difficult to be approved for Full-Time. Management seems a bit unprofessional at my location.

    Advice to Management

Please coach those in management on being respectful to employees and also on respecting availability.

I have been working at Aramark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

All inmates do the work for the most part. You supervise them and unlock doors. You do get benefits packages to choose from.

    Cons

For the most part it is always understaffed so you will have a lot of overtime. Once they do get staffed they will then cut your hours. I have been there for over 3 years (longer than any staff in my facility, including ALL management) I have applied to move forward with the company, they refuse to promote from within and hire from outside. My hours were cut under 40 and the lowest of all staff there including newly hired employees are getting more hours then me. Management there down talks you all the time and in front of inmates, you are asked/told to do things that are against Aramark company policy and threatened to be discipline with a write up if you refuse to do these things.

    Advice to Management

Be more compassionate towards your employees, treat them better, do not tell them to do things that are against the policy and threaten to write them up all the time. Tell your employees from time to time how they are doing, that they are doing a good job, not tell them how bad they are doing all the time.
