I have been working at Arby's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As a "first" job I don't have too many complaints. I really liked getting a new, more comfortable, view of food as well as of different flavor combination techniques. I learned strategies on how to sweep quickly, and was able to teach several new employees how to do different activities; but most all, I learned how to remain calm when performing several tasks at the same time

    Cons

The job had its stressful sides including but not limited to: trying to switch shifts when you get a schedule for the next week (on Thursday), managers coming up with odd rules on where certain supplies "should" go, having to always look like you're doing something, rushes, surprise rushes (buses that don't call ahead), people who want food prepared in a disgusting way that makes no sense, loud trucks idling in drive through, employees telling you the same stories all the time, and winter drive through shifts combined with consistently washed wet hands. While I'm talking about the soap, there were two soap related things that surprised me. First, that the lotion in hand soap doesn't end up doing anything, because you can't tell the difference between the lotion and the soap; you end up scrubbing harder to get the ambiguous soap/lotion slim off of your hands. And secondly, that unused urinal cakes are one of the most pleasant smells in the world. I'm not joking, it should be perfume.

    Advice to Management

Openers and Closers need to swap spots once in a while so they can get a sense of the needs of the other group

I have been working at Arby's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people. Easy job. I like the scheduling and how they are flexible. Very cool staff at most times. Easy to get along with.

    Cons

Bad people. The pay is low. I don't get paid as much as I would like to. Too much gossip and drama in the work place.

    Advice to Management

Prevent drama from happening by cutting people off when they are talking bad about others, rather than encouraging it by joining in.
