    I worked at Arby's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was a Shift Manager, so the only pro was the free food.

My people - those who I trained and helped grow with the company.

    Other than that? What pro?

    Cons

Upper Management is non existent outside of the establishment. It's their day off? Don't call them. They won't answer. Upper management can do as they please while the rest of the store is bound by strict rules and processes.

Night shift is free to do as they wish. There aren't any cameras, you could just get drunk and have sex in the back. Or do your job. No one would know the difference.

Business is run worse than a circus from area/district supervisor down.

Can't speak for the people above them. Why? You'll probably never see or meet them.

    Advice to Management

Wake the hell up and pay attention. Your precious Assistant and General Managers are not doing their work.

Also, when someone comes to warn you about what's going on, listen and take it seriously.

I have been working at Arby's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours are perfect, but only beneficial when school's out. They work with you and are very flexible if you talk to the managerial staff. Good introduction to prepping food, cleaning, communication, and other general maintenance to a restaurant.

    Cons

Low starting wage (minimum or close) that only increases by 10-15 cents every 6 months. They aren't afraid to let people off early if labour is bad, so sometimes you'll lose much needed hours. Busy times can feel overwhelming, and they happen almost everyday.

    Pros

    Fourty eight hour work week.

    Cons

Everything else is absolutely the worst.

    Advice to Management

The franchise, Marlu Investment Group, has to be the worst! Corporate I hear is better. New GM'so to this group are treated as outsiders. Too clickish, rude, & they don't take time to assist unless you threaten to leave. Remember, do not work for Marlu.

Work for a corporate location only.

Try to be understanding and lead by example, not by dictatorship.

    I worked at Arby's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free meal benefit, free uniform excluding safetread shoes, most food is actually
Very good quality for a quick service restaurant

    Cons

No rest or meal breaks given, even though policy manual states otherwise.Team members who contacted human resources about this were fired.Unit director required me to add her on Facebook to monitor my posts(entire staff was required),Team member wages WERE NOT increased as new starting wage was raised, resulting in team members with 2 or more years of experience making less than a new hire.As an Assistant Manager I was only paid a shift manager wage.I do not recommend this company for any reason.

    Advice to Management

    Follow your own policy manual!!

I have been working at Arby's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pros at my restaurant are flexible hours, a good General Manager who listens and some good co-workers. 50% off meals and free drinks.

    Cons

Customers. I admit customer service isn't my strong suit, but some customers need to relax. Screaming, yelling, threatening, i've heard and seen it all in a year and a half.

Health standards are all but ignored. I've seen employees eating out of the fryer throw away bin or even straight out of the fryer. I've seen employees and managers assemble sandwiches with no gloves. Forget about employees ever washing their hands every hour. You'd be lucky if some of them wash them in one shift!

The assistant managers at my location are a joke. One manager hates customers and took the shake machine down early, then told customers it was "broken". Another manager is permanently angry and is constantly threatening employees. Rather than hiring these nut jobs why not promote some of the team members who actually care.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should hold meetings with team members. I understand the difficulties, but if a team member isn't scheduled the same time with the General Manager, they can forget about promotions. Employees should be able to view their files much easier. Even requesting pay stubs is a hassle.
