I worked at Arc of the Ozarks full-time

    Pros

Truly such an amazing company to work for. This program reaches out and helps so many people in need and really makes a difference in peoples lives. Such a rewarding job and great company to work for.

    Cons

The pay was pretty low, but you don't do this job for the money. You do it to help others, which is much more rewarding in itself.

    Advice to Management

    None, great management.

I have been working at Arc of the Ozarks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Supportive management! Excellent training! Competitive salary & benefits package! Progressive! Person centered! Professional leadership! Great communication! Impressive corporate culture fosters teamwork like you wouldn’t believe. This agency goes the extra mile to ensure they are providing the best quality care to each individual they serve!

    Cons

I can’t think of an agency specific con. Any service provider in this field requires flexibility in schedule due to nature of services provided but that comes with the territory and I don’t consider it a con.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I worked at Arc of the Ozarks full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Small company. Financially stable. Newer building.

    Cons

Pay is horrible. Difficult to advance. Two faced people. Empty promises. Don’t care about employees.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more! The pay isn’t competitive to similar jobs around town. Learn how to retain good employees.

    Pros

There is plenty of of opportunities to work overtime. They shifts work around your schedule, and they are very flexible.

    Cons

They don't protect their staff. They lack in communication. They don't pay enough the dangerous work given to the staff.

I have been working at Arc of the Ozarks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are a good company to work for, they do what they can to help you out. Full time employees get insurance and sick and vacation days.

    Cons

They can't always give you the shifts you want, they try but it isn't always possible. The insurance isn't great.

    Advice to Management

To the supervisors who don't care about the workers under you, it would help you keep employees if you showed you care and try to work with them.

    Pros

Good training within the company, while employed

    Advice to Management

    Higher pay rates

    Pros

Able to help people with developmental disabilities get the services they need. Give them the opportunity to live independent, fulfilling lives.

    Cons

Have to work 24/7. Never get a weekend off. Not ever really off. Huge work load and they keep adding more responsibilities every month. Always short staffed. When a supervisor can't get everything done because they have to work so much direct care during the day, evenings, and weekends, they are labeled a bad or lazy supervisor. Training department loves to set program supervisors up for failure and then blame us for failing.

    Advice to Management

Look at other successful businesses that have 24/7 staff and model after them. A big raise does not replace a life and time with family. You are loosing tremendous talent on a regular basis.
