    Pros

These are some of the best people, clients, staff and management! Leadership is vision focused. The pay is competitive. They promote from within. Truly client focused organization that lives up to it's mission. They provide lots of training for not only staff but upper management as well.

    Cons

Needs more uniform training's across the board for promotions of staff. I feel when staff get promoted they are thrown into the new position.
Create more of a work/ life/ balance for direct care staff.

    Pros

The Arc is a very mission focused organization. At the end of each day you truly feel great about working at a place where you make a difference. There are lots of opportunities for advancement for people who are dedicated, caring and have a positive attitude. The Arc isn't perfect, but what company is? They are always trying to make the lives of clients better and treat their employees with respect.

    Cons

This line of work isn't for everybody, but if you are passionate about helping people with disabilities then this is a great place to work. This line of work can be stressful.

    Advice to Management

Continue to have a positive work environment and keep working on improving communication.

I worked at Arc of the Ozarks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The clients you work with are super awesome. You get to go do a lot of fun things.

    Cons

The pay is low considering the job. Management picks and chooses their favorite employees and treats the other ones horribly. I’d show up to my regularly scheduled shift just for a coworker to tell me that a manager told them that I was working a different house. Management would never call said employee directly to tell us we were working somewhere else. I got fired due to a photo that was illegally taken without my permission by another coworker who didn’t like me. Management didn’t even ask my side of the story, they just fired me.

    Advice to Management

You might want to hire better managers who don’t treat their employees like crap and pick and choose their favorites.

I worked at Arc of the Ozarks full-time

    Pros

Mission statement is great. The medical insurance is awesome. You can get some free counseling.

    Cons

Upper management doesn't care about who is working for them, both for the person themselves and as long as there is a body in the house, it doesn't matter who. They fire people over petty disputes but have left abusive people in power. Supervisors leave houses without groceries, make multiple medication errors, and don't stay for their assigned shifts. Those supervisors keep their positions. If they don't like you, upper management gossips about you with other coworkers. THIS IS THE MOST TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR THE CLIENTS. They don't follow standards for breaks. They will guilt you into working more shifts than you are comfortable. You are not guaranteed any days off.

    Advice to Management

Maybe actually listen to concerns of your staff. Rather than simply saying you will "address" it.
