    I have been working at Arc'teryx full-time

    Pros

I've been working here for 3 years, and can say I've never worked for a company as well rounded or just straight up awesome. If improvements can be made, they are made. Not just in your localized work group, but company wide. Whether that's introducing better process, more transparency, or just making the workplace more inviting and welcoming, stuff gets done. There's no pretense and if you voice your opinion,...

    Cons

Opportunities for progression aren't as common as they might be at start-ups or smaller companies—but that's because people tend to stick around.

MANAGEMENT HEAVY. We somehow have a 1:1 ratio of leads to sales staff, only one lead is part time. This leads to hours being pulled away from product guides to make up the 40 hours they have in contract with little regard that in the sales job offer that we were offered 15-25 hours a week. Sales weekly times can range from 5 hours to 30 hours. They say they support active lifestyle and personal goals but then are...

I have been working at Arc'teryx full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Super flexible, interesting projects, opportunities for growth and continuous learning, really great set of colleagues. I'm never bored here, and I feel like I'm using my brain. I'm treated like an individual, and my working style and career interests are encouraged.

    Cons

Benefits could be a little better--only about 40$ covered for RMT etc, but I'm not sure what it's like elsewhere. Dental is pretty great!

I worked at Arc'teryx part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    • discounts are generous • great values • are around like-minded people • you can actually stand by the products because they’re amazing and do their job well

    Cons

    • Arc’teryx stores are run by Amer, the parent company, so we’re held to two different standards and expectations. Living in Vancouver where we’re close to HQ it would often lead to some confusion. Communication between the two would be appreciated before they relay it back to retail staff • management is dishonest and have no integrity. They leave early, scroll through facebook during their shifts, and resist being...

    Advice to Management

    • get organized • show up to work on time and stay for your shift (especially since they’re made by management, they should know when to come in) • actually do work to benefit the staff, don’t just focus on the store aspect • get to know your staff more and maybe treat them like people • have more of a presence on the floor and lead by example instead of hiding in the backroom and not doing any actual work

I worked at Arc'teryx for more than a year

      Pros

Good gear discounts. Thats about it. I did meet some cool likeminded outdoorsy type.

      Cons

Micromanaged, acting like a robot. No freedom of expression. Cleaning up after disrespectful patrons and sucking up to them.

      Advice to Management

Allow the staff to act more natural when interacting with patrons. Throw more team-building events for the staff.
