I have been working at Arc'teryx part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - great brand - meet like-minded people at work

    Cons

    - low pay is very hard to get by on without a second job. Saw a sign for an In and Out fast food place that paid more as a STARTING hourly rate. - don't get paid overtime for OT hours on the clock - hard to have work/life balance with retail hours

    Advice to Management

    - pay your retail employees better, so they can stay at the job (because we want to!) - invest in growing and retaining employees

I worked at Arc'teryx for less than a year

    Pros

Good gear discounts. Thats about it. I did meet some cool likeminded outdoorsy type.

    Cons

Micromanaged, acting like a robot. No freedom of expression. Cleaning up after disrespectful patrons and sucking up to them.

    Advice to Management

Allow the staff to act more natural when interacting with patrons. Throw more team-building events for the staff.

I worked at Arc'teryx full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent benefits packages. Flexible schedules and work-from-home options depending on your role and manager.

    Cons

The place is very uninspiring for high achievers. Many talented individuals (with knowledge) have either left the company during the last 3 years or have mentally checked out. Unfair employee treatments in some departments (eg. Some people can leave early or work from home and others doing the same job can't). Unequal distribution of work and pay (some people have to do unpaid overtime to finish their tasks while...

    Advice to Management

Treat employees fairly. Hire inspired leaders that display integrity and honesty in what they do and hold their staff accountable. People will want to work for them. Make sure your managers are good role models. Good employees want to work, but don't want to be led by people with proven LOUSY track records. Hold your managers accountable. Reward the hard workers instead of the great talkers or the buddies. This...

I have been working at Arc'teryx full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The place usually isn't very busy. Most of the people are nice.

    Cons

Honestly I really regret working here. If you know someone "higher up" in the company you cant get fired, even if you take 2 hour breaks and watch Netflix during shifts. On the other hand if you dont have the connections management can do whatever they want.

    Advice to Management

Try to repair your stores staffing a little.
