    I worked at Arc'teryx full-time

    Pros

You will work with talented people that have a lot of experience and whom you will learn so much from. Flexible work schedule, self managed approach welcomed. A great set of resources to support design.

    Cons

It is a bigger company now than in the past and the company is experiencing some major growing pains. A lot of major changes in the past few years that have resulted in a lot of new people and the loss of some long timers.

    I worked at Arc'teryx

    Pros

Co-workers really passionate about what they do and proud to be part of the team, nice discounts on products, respect of work-life balance

    Cons

The company is growing quite fast, they need more policies, right now big lack of directions, work place very "clicky" in general

    Advice to Management

I really enjoyed my time at Arc'teryx.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Arc'teryx part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - great brand - meet like-minded people at work

    Cons

    - low pay is very hard to get by on without a second job. Saw a sign for an In and Out fast food place that paid more as a STARTING hourly rate. - don't get paid overtime for OT hours on the clock - hard to have work/life balance with retail hours

    Advice to Management

    - pay your retail employees better, so they can stay at the job (because we want to!) - invest in growing and retaining employees

I have been working at Arc'teryx

    Pros

Growing company, good atmosphere, great location, friendly people, fun parties and staff events, rrsp matching, msp paid, gym in the office, team building

    Cons

Pay is below median pay scale, little opportunity for decent raises unless you threaten to quit, extended medical isn't very comprehensive, not much invested in training programs

    Advice to Management

Grow your internal talent more rather than hiring externally, provide more opportunity for training staff, be more transparent - it goes a long way, find more ways to impact entry to mid-level employees

    I worked at Arc'teryx full-time

    Pros

    Being in Vancouver, Canada.

    Cons

Pay and upward mobility. It's amazing how quickly motivation and aspirations dwindle when you stand greeting customers for two hours a day.

I worked at Arc'teryx part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    • discounts are generous • great values • are around like-minded people • you can actually stand by the products because they’re amazing and do their job well

    Cons

    • Arc’teryx stores are run by Amer, the parent company, so we’re held to two different standards and expectations. Living in Vancouver where we’re close to HQ it would often lead to some confusion. Communication between the two would be appreciated before they relay it back to retail staff • management is dishonest and have no integrity. They leave early, scroll through facebook during their shifts, and resist being...

    Advice to Management

    • get organized • show up to work on time and stay for your shift (especially since they’re made by management, they should know when to come in) • actually do work to benefit the staff, don’t just focus on the store aspect • get to know your staff more and maybe treat them like people • have more of a presence on the floor and lead by example instead of hiding in the backroom and not doing any actual work
