I have been working at Arc'teryx part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Employee discount was amazing. Didn't work time, it was a college job, so I'm not sure about health benefits. Pay was competitive. Easy going staff and managers.

    Cons

Company liked to overstaff the floor

I worked at Arc'teryx part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

best pro deal in the business, and access to almost all AMER products really good experience for retail, really high quality gear lots of training fun team, often do activities or volunteer good way to get in the door for working for Arc'teryx headquarters

    Cons

it took them way too long to bring us up to Seattle minimum wage worst benefits for Seattle outdoor retail companies no overtime you don't act as an Arc'teryx employee, you are an AMER employee

    Advice to Management

AMER should treat their sales associates better

      I have been working at Arc'teryx part-time

      Pros

Great staff. Kind. Hard working. Great environment.

      Cons

Slow access to benefits. Overwhelming emphasis to the product rather than people who wear it.

      Advice to Management

More presence at trade shows. More gear opportunities for employees

I have been working at Arc'teryx full-time for more than a year

      Pros

The place usually isn't very busy. Most of the people are nice.

      Cons

Honestly I really regret working here. If you know someone "higher up" in the company you cant get fired, even if you take 2 hour breaks and watch Netflix during shifts. On the other hand if you dont have the connections management can do whatever they want.

      Advice to Management

Try to repair your stores staffing a little.

      I worked at Arc'teryx

      Pros

      - after 3 months you get access to a discount - some free seasonal merchandise

      Cons

      - horrible management - have to wear clothing every shift even though no one who works there can afford it - when you do get free clothing you are severely limited by available sizes and colours so you may be stuck with things that don't fit - high expectations for product knowledge but no compensation for it - no raises for hours worked, or loyalty by staying with the company - will not provide references when...

      Advice to Management

For such a ground breaking company you should really put more time and consideration into how you treat and reward your staff on the front lines. Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities and North America and what you pay your employees is laughable. You also demand advanced product knowledge but don't have any sample products for staff to test out. You without your discount but let friends and family of other staff...

I worked at Arc'teryx full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Staff deals, staff events, good pay, great benefits. Lots of room for growth and expansion is rapid

      Cons

When I left it was going from medium to large sized so there were policies favoring a small company but then there were some universal changes across the board that most people were not into.

      Advice to Management

Make sure to allow staff to take vacation and use the products they sell and develop! More perks for outdoor adventures would be nice.
