I have been working at Arc'teryx part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - great brand - meet like-minded people at work

    Cons

    - low pay is very hard to get by on without a second job. Saw a sign for an In and Out fast food place that paid more as a STARTING hourly rate. - don't get paid overtime for OT hours on the clock - hard to have work/life balance with retail hours

    Advice to Management

    - pay your retail employees better, so they can stay at the job (because we want to!) - invest in growing and retaining employees

    Advice to Management

Wow, what to say to the management you should fire all the managers that do nothing and trust me you have a lot of those in your company. Not a great company anymore. Company just want to make money now in order to hit the target each month. Product way too expensive for employees even if you have your staff discount. You should raise the salary some department work like crazy and don't get paid for overtime. People in...

    Pros

Great company. Flexible in work-life balance. Lot's of creative people that do get the work done. Arc'teryx makes the best outdoor sports apparel there is.

    Cons

could have somewhat better secondary benefits. Sometimes too many cooks in the kitchen.

    Advice to Management

Keep it playful, keep improving on benefits. And most of all keep making the best product out there. Never compromise on quality!

    I worked at Arc'teryx

    Pros

The people are very great to work with; everyone is friendly and helpful. Most people are motivated to create, build, and sell great product that supports an active lifestyle

    Cons

The workload is heavy at times, given the cyclical nature of the business. Because of this, sometimes work/life balance are difficult to maintain.

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve processes in the support areas of the business and all will be good!

    I have been working at Arc'teryx full-time

    Pros

    - Wonderful work life balance - Great opportunity to learn technical knowledge - Nice coworkers who share enthusiasm for outdoors

    Cons

    - BAD old fashioned top- down management style. - roles are ridged, with no inclusivity in communication (very closed door) - Poor feedback and engagement or empowerment of staff. - Stuck in the rut thinking ("this is the way we have always done it...") - Departments are very seperate with poor cross functional communication, respect or understanding. - New ideas are not valued unless you are senior management.

    Advice to Management

This is 2016, you have a staff half full of Millenials who are looking for more engagement in work. Challenge your leaders to adopt to inspire this next generation or replace them for someone who will. Too many great staff have left due to this factor alone. Respect the ideas and insights that your staff have. Encourage round tables sessions. Allow people to be great. Allow them to help the company be great.

I have been working at Arc'teryx for more than 6 years

    Pros

    Good Work and Life balance

    Cons

    Too many layers of Management

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, lose the dead weight employees faster, deal with bad behaviour in employees as it leads to a bad example to others.

    I have been working at Arc'teryx full-time

    Pros

    - Work/life balance - People committed to getting stuff done! - SUPER outdoor culture - Great discounts - The people are just amazing - Climbing gym/normal gym - Flexible hours - Onsite manufacturing equipment and freedom to play with the materials - Amazing parties - Bike room/culture around biking - Open lay out and culture (you can walk up to anyone and chat) - Growing very fast! - Management are improving...

    Cons

    - Low-Mid level pay compared to industry average - Can be an odd divide between employees hired in certain time periods - Slow advancement - Career paths can be very unclear with little direction on how to evolve and grow if you are a motivated person (But if you push hard enough for long enough you can get there!) - Values quality and product, but less tangible values (Other then profit) are a little confused

    Advice to Management

    - Reward people for the work that they do with traditional means as well as parties and freedom, some valuable people are motivated by things like career advancement, so give them the path to get there! - Give mid. level managers ability to reward their employees

    Pros

Great culture and good people. Nice facilities, good staff discounts, and discounts within the industry. Work life balance is also encouraged.

    Cons

Unfortunately their pay and benefits package are significantly lower than the industry standard. As it was explained to me, their rationale is that 'Pro's' mentioned above should balance out the 'Cons'. It depends on what is important to you.
