    Pros

The Company has catered lunch on Wednesdays. The workers are friendly.

    Cons

Director's like to yell, unpleasant and unprofessional.
Workers are warned not to approach other Department Manager's because they might have a temper tantram.
Some staff members lack very basic computer skills.

    Advice to Management

Treat both consultants and employee's with respect. It is unproductive to have "Director" or "Managers" that are preceived to have so much power and control that everyone else needs to walk on egg shells in order to get their work done. This is a small company with to many back stabbing and unhealthy management. They should clean house starting with the Director's. They should offer free training to their all staff on how to use MS Office Suite.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

To better appreciate your former employer after joining ArcSight.
You will become a cynical demoralized candidate after the first interview.

    Cons

Have to work 1 year before you can quit otherwise employers perceive a 'job hopper'.

    Advice to Management

    Stop offering bread crumbs.

    Pros

It was a Pre-IPO company when I joined. The space is very hot, since Security and compliance is a big deal these days. The engineers there are of above average quality, and they work very hard and they are very productive. There are some super people there as well. Benefits were fairly good although their 401k did not match

    Cons

Low Pay, decent benefits, but not great.. But I really got ripped off in terms of pay when I joined. they low balled me into taking a pay cut, which I later regretted. Basically the biggest drawback is that it is a startup with low pay.

    Advice to Management

    None.

I have been working at ArcSight full-time

    Pros

They pay a salary., I guess that is the best you can do these days

    Cons

ArcSight has gone down the toilet since HP bought them. Consistently gotten worse year to year. There are rumors of lay offs.

    Advice to Management

Bump up the staff, increase training, start giving raises above inflation again.

I worked at ArcSight full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Office culture struck a good balance between energetic startup and established tech company.
Felt management respected my opinion and valued my contributions.
Fair amount of free food: breakfast foods, afternoon snacks, sodas, and free lunch every Wednesday.

    Cons

Was bought by HP in 2010 and slowly lost the spirit that made it successful.

    Pros

Leadership, product and people were all great and I really enjoyed working there. Would jump on any opportunity to work in the same environment again.

    Cons

I cannot really think of any cons except for the fact that it might have gotten acquired a bit too soon. Similar companies have twice the market cap as they are still independent.

    Pros

Great Technology, Great original ArcSight folks

    Cons

HP has gutted the organization and almost all the original folks are gone.

    Advice to Management

Fix the internal process that drags down the ability to get any real work done and get customers the support they need.

    Pros

people are usually nice and help each other for work. Also company is pretty successful because technology is leading market. it is also pretty good balancing life and work.

    Cons

The pay is not good enough, especially the stock option. Company had 1:4 reverse split for stock option. But no reverse split for investor.

    Advice to Management

Should pay more attention to technology not just marketing and sales.

There's some good colleagues, and there's some bad colleagues.
Management is lousy, and fortunately, has gone back to Intel/McAfee, where he came from.

    Cons

It gets confusing who to report to.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what's going wrong with the company.
