I worked at Arcadia University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people focused on making an educating experience for the students.
    Free classes.
    Work isn't very hectic.
Lots of neat people work here.
    The campus is nice.
    Nice art galleries.

    Cons

Administration has to appease faculty, staff and students which can be difficult.
They are a small liberal arts school with a small liberal arts school budget.
They've had a heavy rotation of Presidents.

    Advice to Management

I can't possibly provide advice in an area I know so little about. Running a university must be difficult. They at least make it look difficult.

I worked at Arcadia University (More than a year)

    Pros

The students and some of the faculty are absolutely great

    Cons

The administration is almost all-around terrible. Instead of making some terribly needed maintenance improvements and focusing on helping the people who are already there, the administration just puts a band-aid over everything to try and attract new students that will (in increasing numbers) transfer after their first year. A lot of their technology and supplies they use for upper-year classes are decades out of date. I spent a lot of time in my office job just moving around boxes of never-used supplies from the 70s and 80s from room to room because the manager couldn't decide where they wanted it. Absolutely nothing is efficient.

    Advice to Management

Take a couple years and focus on your current students and staff instead of trying to usher in new people every year. Clear out all of the junk and start new. Repair your buildings, get some decent administrative infrastructure, and then move on.
