I worked at ArcelorMittal full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay and benefits were good until 2015 when they drastically changed for the worse. Bonuses are not based on merit and are NO WHERE NEAR the percentage quoted.

    Cons

    Very little opportunity to advance
Open positions are not posted and given to those in the know (not based on qualifications)
Management is unqualified - very poor management decisions
HR does not support employees and very unprofessional

    Advice to Management

Become a real company or delist. Operate like a true public company.

I worked at ArcelorMittal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of my coworkers actually cared about the company and were dedicated to getting the job done. The 401k match is good.

    Cons

The health benefits for salaried workers were drastically cut. The entire company works with antiquated systems and processes across departments. There are little opportunities for growth and little job security unless you are a white male or of Indian descent. Management is nonexistent and the HR department is a joke. It seems like decisions are made by throwing darts at a board.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your current employees and hire managers who have actual knowledge in their fields, instead of promoting your friends.

I have been working at ArcelorMittal full-time

    Pros

Pay is good and 401K is comparable to other companies

    Cons

Work-Life balance is really really bad. Pay raises are only based on time spent with the company and not by performance. They also hire new engineers and then have them become front line supervisors which is a waste of their degree.

    Advice to Management

If you want the company to survive you have to think about the incoming college hires/engineers.

I worked at ArcelorMittal as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Machine operators are very friendly and will help you to understand what process is actually happening and you can learn a lot about machinery from them

    Cons

Management is worse, hire people as intern for name sake, do not assign proper work and expect to do any work. If you are foodie you will find it hard to adjust with the food.

    I worked at ArcelorMittal full-time

    Pros

    Recreation centre and training opportunities.

    Cons

Arcelormittal incorporates a cultute of disrespectful and bullying behaviour. Middle management are some of the worst human beings. You are assigned to several projects with shirt deadlines and work life balance takes a serious hit. Employees are treated as numbers and the pay is well below the industry average. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

The management doing things for the shake of doing it, no purpose.
