    Positive Outlook

I worked at Archelon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A good and flat structure company. People working here are smart. Free breakfast and drinks. Very quantitative trading shop.

    Cons

Hard to keep talented people in this competitive trading environment. Some department was controlled by few people, speaking the same language was the most important thing to be in.

    Advice to Management

Need to bring new blood to the company, more aggressive to appeal more talented trading people in. It's good to have smart kids, but more experiences quant and traders are necessary too.

    Pros

Small prop trading firm, comfortable work environment, solid operations, decent executive group. Many of the traders and support staff have been with the firm for a long time which characterizes the culture.

    Cons

The comfort and familiarity of the place comes at a cost. While the firm innovates, it does so at a measured pace.

    I worked at Archelon full-time

    Pros

There were a lot of good people who worked there. Like most trading firms there was always something to do so it was rarely boring. Good pay. Casual work environment.

    Cons

Some people liked brainstorming ideas that were not practical at the time rather than focusing on the actual work at hand. The large layoff was no fun.
