I worked at Archive Systems, Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have no words prospective employees or those interested in conducting business here.

    Cons

Prior ownership lived in the past, could not scale and took the money and ran like a thief in the night. SHAMFULL. Not sure curent ownnership is creating change and developing people or chasing the $. It only costs $00.2 to store a box. S&H only cost $0.03 per touch. 10gb of memory cost $0.07 not $10.0 get real guys. Does profit go to the investors or reinvesting in your people. Unsustainable and corrupt business practice.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. Set your PEOPLE up to succeed versus kicking them to the curb. I hope everyone is better than that.

    Pros

Absolutely nothing good to say about this company. I am embarrassed to have it on my resume.

    Cons

Terrible culture and Management. Most of the good people are let go for no reason other than they didn't meet their sales goal for the quarter.

    Advice to Management

Hire new management that actually cares about people. The board should really think about replacing the CEO who is coming up with new business model every six months.

I worked at Archive Systems, Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The ability to work daily with your executive leadership is experience unparalleled to most entry level sales positions. The sales training is invaluable, you are put through a crash course initially. Shortly after that you are prospecting potential customers, working on sales campaigns (marketing), following up on webinar leads, and once a potential opportunity has been identified you work that lead with the assistance of the sales leadership. For a young rep this experience is worth its weight in gold. You are also lead by a proven VP of sales who has the ability to work through complex business situations and close the business. Working hand in hand with him on a number of wins I can say his presence in the room was the reason our wins were wins and not losses. The management team the VP has assembled is also world class, lots of experience and as I said earlier working with these people daily is worth is weight in gold. Many sales leaders have come from internal promotion, extremely knowledgable and dedicated to putting in the hard work necessary to close business. Career progression is huge here if your successful, in my 2 years at archive I was groomed into a seasoned sales professional.

    Cons

Office locations, consider relocating sales offices to improve company culture which in turn effects moral.

Marketing efforts....Webinar leads were treated as warm leads when a majority of the attendees were more interested in the content of the webinar (educational purposes due to subject matter). A change in subject matter and a more targeted marking campaign could improve this. With that said I am not sure where the disconnect is when reviewing marketing performance. The proof is in the numbers, look at the number of "warm leads" produced through webinars/marketing and then cross reference that with the deals closed over the past 3 years, the initial touch point wasn't the webinar it was the sales campaigns (either through a cold call or email campaign).

    Advice to Management

Spend money; invest in marketing, attend every trade show in the HR space, buy the sales tools necessary to enable your sales team to succeed!! If you want to be a player in the software world act like it, best practices in the hard copy world aren't necessarily best practices in the software world...two different beasts and should be treated as such. Sales leadership is very involved with the deals and are in constant contact with the sales reps working those deals....I would recommend asking what issues those reps are running up against and I would take immediate action.

    Pros

    Small company to work for

    Cons

People not so friendly. The parking lot spots are all reserved for managers, not even for disability.

    Pros

Because the company is so short-handed, you get to try your hand at different business activities, which helps your resume. The pay is competitive. If you know what you're doing, they leave you alone. The checks clear. There are a core of employees who hold the entire place together. Most people at the company are pleasant.

    Cons

The company is always trying to find its way. There's no consistent long-range plan so they try to do everything, which pleases no one involved: customers or staff. People seem afraid to speak up, probably because nobody at the top truly listens. They think the answer to the companies limited revenues is to keep laying people off. They've laid off some good people. At the same time, the company keeps a couple of low performers around year after year. The company lets these rotten apples do little but blame the good employees for their failures. And this hurts morale.

    Advice to Management

Focus on core competencies and listen to what your employees are telling you in the annual surveys. Some of your executives and managers are better at playing the corporate game than getting their work done. If someone is pointing the finger at someone else in the organization, that should be a red flag. Get on them.

    Pros

Fast paced work environment which is great for people who work hard and are driven by accomplishment. The company provides game-changing technology that is ahead of market demand. Great growth opportunity for top performers.

    Cons

Rapid growth consumes resources. B and C players struggle to keep up and can negatively impact morale. Being innovative creates an environment of continual change. Many average workers struggle in this climate. Sales success relies on smart, talented team members and the company hasn't always hired to that profile - which has led to consistent sales turnover.

    Advice to Management

Continue to drive innovation the market will respond.

I have been working at Archive Systems, Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The benefits have been acceptable.

    Cons

Lack of communication, no value in the employees. No matter ones potential or loyalty unless you're a sycophant and in the right cliques you will not progress within the company.

The pay rate of operations vs non-operations/corporations is absurd and maddening.

    Advice to Management

Take care of and give back to your employees. We receive emails monthly about your new sales and new clients and quarterly meetings about the precious cubic feet but we have not seen much in return. This partially has to do with the high employee turnaround.
