I have been working at Arco AmPm part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working at AmPm/Arco you get to meet some cool people. Its not a hard job and your coworkers are usually nice. You can build your skills up if needed for other jobs.

    Cons

The boss is very bipolar, he will be happy one minute then five minutes later will be very condescending and angry about odd things. He also tends to over staff, which in turn shorts people on hours. You can't leave the property for lunch even though you clock off for lunch. The boss will mess up your name and not care.

    Pros

Easy to change your schedule to fit school hours

    Cons

Most likely start in graveyard shift, and be hard to leave it.

    Advice to Management

Stop demanding that graveyard shift has to do everything, even for the day shifts.

I have been working at Arco AmPm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good focus on work-life balance, very little work for the money that BP offers you. I have had to work a lot harder to reach similar remuneration elsewhere.

    Cons

Overt focus on diversity and inclusion - some recent job candidates were selected purely because they were female. I am not a disgruntled employee or someone who lost out on these roles. However, I firmly believe that meritocracy should be the sole criteria for promoting people up. There are some businesses within BP that are doing relatively well (Lubricants and some parts of Fuels business), but other businesses such as Petrochemicals and Upstream that are hurting.

    Advice to Management

    Stay consistent with the strategy.

I worked at Arco AmPm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Coworkers can be nice. Simple job. Great as a starter job or part-time if in school or needing a 2nd job.

    Cons

Everything else. They will work you til you have nothing left. The pay is extremely low and the work is mostly labor or dealing with rude customers on a daily basis. Though it's a lot of work, it's very easy work. The stress from the customers and soulless management is what's hard deal with. You're not valued here, period. As a person or as an employee.

    Advice to Management

Successful bosses actually LISTEN to their staff. Your high turnover rate is because of the way you treat employees and because you refuse to listen.
