I worked at Arctern full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I had joined Arctern in 2009 as a QA Manager and got quickly promoted to the Delivery Manager position(2 levels higher). It was a pleasant surprise because
it does not happen in Fortune Companies, unless you know someone in Senior Management. Here are a few points that I wanted to highlight about the company and its culture:
    1. Whenever any of my team member resigned, I was questioned. In case of difference of opinion, the benefit of doubt always went to the employee.
    2. One of my team member suffered a heart attack and the medical policy did not cover the complete financial overhead. The company went out of the way and
    bore all expenses.
    3. The company offered great work life balance like work from home policies and there were many employees who permanently worked from home.
    4. I once ran into health issues and my family was in Delhi. My Manager called me and told me that I can work from Delhi as long as I want and also offered
to take care of travel expenses whenever I was required to come over physically to office.

I, after working for over 16 years have neither seen nor heard any similar policies at least in India. Arctern, by far, is the best company I have worked for till date.

    Cons

Currently, Arctern is completely dependent on Volt (parent company). I think it can have its own customer base and shippable software products.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
