I worked at Arctic Glacier full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Arctic Glacier is a great place to work and has a lot of great employees as well.

    Cons

Equipment and tools are old and made it hard to work with them.

I have been working at Arctic Glacier full-time

    Pros

The ice industry is in dire need of young talent. If you're interested, you will probably be able to move up quickly.

    Cons

    - Distribution equipment (trucks/trailers) is sub-par. Handhelds are printers are over 10 years old and break constantly. - One has to be on call pretty much 24/7, at least in the branch I work at.

    Advice to Management

Get better, newer equipment. You can afford it.

I worked at Arctic Glacier full-time

    Pros

    Good people
    Overtime opportunities during summer
    Advancement opportunities if competent
    Ability to share ideas
    Genuine care for employees
Willingness to work with given schedule

    Cons

Outside of the summer, the hours can become slim. But that's the nature of the business.
    Some instances of favoritism.
Never really any idea of what the hours will be during any given day. (i.e. can't really tell family/friends when you will be off work)

    Advice to Management

Do not lose touch with the hometown culture the company has. It is what makes working at Arctic Glacier a great job: the feel of actually providing something to the city and, although it is just ice, actually providing something that is needed during the summer.

I worked at Arctic Glacier full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only pro there was at this job was leaving. Management was bad and the only thing they care about is the bottom line.

    Cons

They treat you like a slave. Any day that you work you will not be able to make plans for anything else. It's all about the company and they could care less about your personal life. Very horrible place to work. Mostly hire college kids home for the summer because they can get away with treating them like dirt.

    Advice to Management

Care a little more about your employees and their overall morale. A lot of us work 70 hours a week (some more, which is a direct violation of DOT) and get paid extremely low for the work we do.

    Pros

Many of my colleagues were great to work with and we kept things together well in a crazy work environment.

    Cons

Too many day-to-day changes, too many phone calls and not enough people to answer phones. Poor communication between the different parts of the company.

    Advice to Management

Establish better communication between the different departments. Many problems caused throughout the day we due to a lack of communication.
