I have been working at Ardaman & Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you like a variety of work and travel you will find it here. The staff is competent and very friendly and you are mostly left to your own devices when it comes to work. There is a very strong office culture and you will be treated like family. You will travel all over the area and work mostly with cities and government entities although they do work with private clients as well. There is a lot to learn and if you are willing to put in the effort you can gain a lot from this job in experience and certifications as well as connections in local government and the private sector.

    Cons

There is a definite lack of communication between the different departments as well as between the management and the rest of the staff. You will also be working more than 40 hours a week from the get go so while you will be making good money you will not have the free time to spend it. The management tend to expect a lot from you even when your plate is already full. There is also little to no room for growth. Many of the upper positions are filled and there are people waiting to fill them when someone retires. If you are looking to grow in a company this one is not for you. At least not for the next 5 years. There is also a big generation gap in the company and usually creates tension since the younger people tend to view their position as just another job to be paid for and the older ones view it as a career that they take pride in.

    Advice to Management

There is a really big disconnect between the office staff and the field technicians. Most of the complaints from each side never will be heard by the other so real problems will rarely be fixed. Until this is fixed it will make workers feel unvalued and eventually leave the company.

I worked at Ardaman & Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, great coworkers, decent benefits.

    Cons

Company departments and divisions (Miami, Tampa, Orlando) are disconnected and do not know what each does and the full extent of the resources available within the company. Not very efficient with departments outsourcing (subcontracting) work that could be in-house.

    Advice to Management

    Acknowledge hard work.

I worked at Ardaman & Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A good deal of overtime. Wayne is a great boss and very fair. I enjoyed working for Ardaman while employed. Also, the other employees were well grounded individuals and easy to get along with.

    Cons

No room for advancement because of the lack of positions. The upper management was a bit strange and seemed to have no personality.

    Advice to Management

Keep better track of your employees and make sure they are actually doing the work required.

    Pros

Large variety of projects to work on. Opportunity for out-of-office (field) work. Fairly stable for engineers. Good work/home life time ratio. Good for families.

    Cons

Somewhat low pay scale. No real mentor program, rather "get out there and do it" mentality. Somewhat limited career opportunities. No clear path for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Develop mentor program. Develop career pathways for young engineers.
