I worked at Arena Technical Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Took the time to take care of whatever my needs were for the situation. I traveled for work and ATR, Charles specifically, took a great deal of time to make sure I didn't have to fus over getting hotels or car's booked. When I worked a bit faster than planned, ATR was on the ball to get arrangements changed so I could move to the next hotel without issue.
ATR made sure to get me any Per Diem owed quickly. Any expenses I took on myself such as fuel, food, or entertainment were paid at the per diem rate and quickly. ATR advanced over half before I left so I did not have to pull any out of pocket.
Jessica at ATR was great at sending out reminders that things were due, but not in that, "get this done or else" kind of way.
All in all my 9 months with ATR was fantastic. Even when I handed in my notice, because I was signing onto the main contract, ATR made it easy to transition over.

    Cons

I know this is the nature of the beast, but, on boarding paperwork. I know there is probably some law that say I have to fill out my name and date of birth in mass, but, there has to be a way to stream line it. That paperwork made me rethink my existence.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to streamline that on boarding paperwork. It isn't that bad of a thing, but it would make things a little nicer.

I worked at Arena Technical Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to ease into recruiting, relaxed environment, and you develop close relationships with the other recruiters.

    Cons

Commission is always incorrect. Management does not treat their internal employees fairly or equally. Felt like more of a social gathering opposed to a career. Management is extremely out of touch with their employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the feedback from your employees and actually make a positive change.

I worked at Arena Technical Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young environment, good culture. Come and go as you please. I learned a lot, great place to start a recruiting career.

    Cons

The office is too small and everyone cares too much about everyone else's business. Only promote (the guys) from within, not much room for advancement if you are a girl. Payroll/commission is always messed up. No actual HR department/back office.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees all of the commission they earned. Create a standard practice for when employees leave. Try to gain respect from your employees, not friendship.

I worked at Arena Technical Resources full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The pay was decent .

    Cons

Poor communication and very disorganized. This was the worse experience I have encountered since I have been contracting . I was constantly getting paid late. The manager on the project was a complete idiot . Avoid at all cost if you just need to get back to work I understand but proceed with caution keep a back up plan

I have been working at Arena Technical Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-The management is very helpful to internal staff with helping them learn the staffing industry.
-Great work environment with a balance of fun and hard work
-A lot of opportunity to advance internally

    Cons

The initial base compensation for internal employees is on the lower end, but the growth on commissions makes the initial offering more than fair.

    Advice to Management

Keep building on internal staff and offer additional incentives to remain longer

I worked at Arena Technical Resources (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Quick recruitment to first day on the job

    Cons

    -Reneged on commute stipend:

I was promised (on my employment contract) a fixed commute stipend of $xxx. I worked for these amateurs for 2.5 months. The first month, I received my full stipend. The second month, I gave my two week notice and had to fight to get my full commute stipend for the month (it took copying the CEO on my email correspondence). I was then told that I would not receive any more commute stipend as a retaliation for me giving my two week notice to resign.

    -Over-deduction for health insurance:

My health insurance premiums were $xxx per pay period. During my last month (which was only 2 weeks), an open enrollment period occurred and ATR used a loophole in my contract to deduct ~$400 more than required to pay my premiums for the month because of a change in the monthly premiums with an 'addendum page' that I never received under full disclosure.

There are many other staffing firms that can easily get you the same jobs of which these crooks recruit. I highly advise to stay away from Arena Technical Resources, far away. they will strongarm you if you decide to leave them.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the recruiting business.
