I have been working at Argo Tea full-time

    Pros

Working for Argo is truly inspiring. Their mission, products and values make you fall in love with the brand continually. The people that have been with the company for years are also inspiring. They do provide you the opportunity to grow, it just feels a lot like "tough love" most of the time. They are on the brink of being a very big successful brand and you can feel that in all that you do with them.

    Cons

The pay is ridiculously low. No matter if you work in the home office, sales, or in retail/cafes. The management is just terrible, but you alms can't blame them because everyone is doing the work of 5 people. There is often the feeling that you need to sacrifice your well-being and off-hour plans for the sake of Argo. Bleeding argo green is very much required to maintain your passion for the company.

    Advice to Management

Set the standard and don't work 80 hours a week, demand more people so the relief can be felt through the whole chain. To be fair, I dont think 'management' can do much. It comes down to Arsen (CEO) deciding some of his ever increasing profits should be shared amongst those helping to acquire them.

    Pros

Fun people to work with. Good perks with the free money on your app every pay period. Pay is okay if your in a management roll.

    Cons

Over worked and underpaid. Archaic equipment that won't be replaced. They are to worried about lining pockets of the upper management.

    Advice to Management

Realize that your Argo way is joke. Treat your employees better so that they want to stay and not jump ship. You will continue to lose quality people.

    Pros

Top-notch peers, amazing products, fun opportunities for engagement. Great opportunity to work and interact with like-minded individuals daily.

    Cons

Work/life balance is encouraged but not supported. Lack of transparency from department to department creates company-wide headaches. Need for better vendors for equipment.

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging your TEAm to speak up, then act on their ideas; when they no longer have anything to say, you have failed them.

I have been working at Argo Tea full-time

    Pros

Argo takes care of the people who take care of Argo! There is a lot of room for growth and development as long as you are vocal about your career path and are dedicated to the company. It is a fun and inviting environment that welcomes diversity and personal growth, all while accepting any feedback that can be given and improved upon.

    Cons

Communication can sometimes be tough and inconsistent between upper management and the cafes. Also overall just a lack of consistency of processes and procedures as the company is always trying to find the most efficient way to go - that can sometimes be a little frustrating when things are always changing.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to the people in the field to help with business decisions that are relevant to the majority of the employees

I worked at Argo Tea full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Really there is none. Maybe working with the other Argo employees but their also unhappy because they work for Argo Tea.

    Cons

The pay is not enough for the work they just drop on your lap. No respect for your life outside of Argo Tea, they expect you to work on your days off because people call out all the time and their espresso machine and other machines like the bar always break and they also expect you to just deal with it even if the company that gross 17 mill a year is too cheap to fix any of the equipment. It's fun when customer screams at you because half the menu is unavailable because Argo is too cheap to fix their stuff which also hurts sells Which in return the GM gives you attitude because the store ain't meeting its sells quota. Human resource is a joke, the person over there clearly does not care or know what she is doing.
And the GM could have hoot about the Baristas and is completely useless, and the owner is also does not want anything to do with the baristas clearly he's self titled . He won't even say hi to you he just expect you the give him white tea and is too good to be caught talking to a looser barista.
They completely lie to you about jobs, I got hired has a barista but ended up being barista, prep, janitor, assistance manager, manager, dishwasher, GM for customers who want to scream at someone, handy man because Argo is too cheap to hire their own handy man.
No Hoilday pay, no chance for upping your pay, health insurance is a joke. No sick days or PTO, can't request days off, honestly I could go on.

    Advice to Management

None. Advice like that people should pay for that kind of info. Why would I give you helpful advice when the company clearly does not care about customers or their employees.

    Pros

When you work for Argo, you will feel a lot of pride for what you do. Argo puts a lot of time and care into every little detail that makes their products. They know the story behind every ingredient - where it comes from, how it's grown, the people who harvest it - it's truly amazing the amount of care that goes into the process. I feel good working for this company, knowing they don't cut corners to increase profits and that their top priority is putting out the best product possible.

Because the company is still growing, there are a lot of opportunities to grow with the company. Many people working in the home office got their start as baristas and have a long history with Argo. It's exciting to see the company grow as it is.

    Cons

Argo is a growing company with a relatively small home office - each person does the work of many. This is challenging and rewarding, but can lead to a bit of stress and long hours. I'm sure as Argo continues to grow, they'll be able to bring on more people to help spread the work a bit more.

    Advice to Management

Continue your efforts on improving communication - your efforts are greatly appreciated.
