I have been working at Argus Information & Advisory Services full-time

    Pros

Worked in client facing side. Given a lot of responsibility right away. Good blend of technical & business skills needed.

    Cons

Most young people wish it was in NYC instead of White Plains. The commute by train isn't bad but its not as exciting as NYC.

    Advice to Management

Add an office in NYC. They give pretty good bonuses but need to give larger salary increases to younger employees.

    Pros

the bonus number is not bad. a lot of hard working people. sometimes good projects can give you good opportunity to learn things

    Cons

the leadership isn't that great. time management from the leaders always mess up things. the company culture tend to be over promising for the sake of money but under delivery because the plan wasnt designed in a realistic manner. so employees can be really burned out.

    Advice to Management

hire some good leaders and overhaul the company culture

    Pros

It's a good company overall, great learning experience if you're motivated, the people there are really nice and are free snacks in the office! You can get to meet a lot of people and make friends while networking. The office is close to New York City

    Cons

There isn't a work culture there, high turnover ratio and talented people leave right after a year or two, Work/life balance could be improved and the compensation wasn't great. Sometimes the work itself isn't very motivating nor interesting.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employers nicely and compensate them accordingly. Develop the internship program and use it as a way of recruiting.

    Pros

Competitive pay. I was offered a job after interning at Argus for the summer, but I ended up declining the offer.

    Cons

    Pros

Good opportunity to learn a lot of new tools, coworkers are all relatively young, Argus is a great place for new grads to pick up a few skills and learn more about credit card data

    Cons

Sometimes the workload can be heavy. There might be a lot of stress due to tight deadlines and too much work.

    Advice to Management

Make sure no team is understaffed, people can be moved around within Argus, because I think there are teams that are overstaffed and there are teams that are understaffed

I have been working at Argus Information & Advisory Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Argus checks all the boxes from a benefits and compensation perspective: good healthcare, generous paid time off, family leave policies, etc. The company is doing very well financially with expansion of its businesses and workforce globally. Opportunities for advancement abound for worthy employees.

On the intangible side of the equation, Argus is the rare employer that promotes a strong work ethic, a culture of mutual respect, and a non-hyper-competitive atmosphere. Argus does not suffer from the same pervasive ego problems that befall many consulting, technology, and financial services companies.

Hiring smart people does not always coincide with hiring thoughtful people. Fortunately, Argus combines the two.

    Cons

Argus' data ecosystem can be unwieldy.

    Advice to Management

Continue to see innovations through and work with employees on both professional and personal growth.

I have been working at Argus Information & Advisory Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent environment to learn from industry experts, and play a visible role in the organization. Strong culture of developing internal talent, and positioning employees to take on broader roles.

    Cons

Could benefit from additional formal training opportunities, however, Argus has been working very closely with Verisk's L&D team to close that gap.

    Advice to Management

In the last few years, the leadership team has actively maintained a pulse on employee morale, and introduced several exciting initiatives to combat pain points. Keep this up!
