    Pros

Getting your feet wet with data. Glassdoor is making me have 20 word minimum. There's no other positives really. Filler Filler

    Cons

This place is essentially the professionals version of a sweat shop. Managers have no respect for their employees personal time. You'll be asked to constantly sacrifice for the firm, but they will invest very little in investing in you. The data is often so messed up that you spend more time cleaning then doing actual analysis. The data quality is dubious, the hardware is absolute junk. The type of work and tools are also rather limited to the point where your skills are not easily transferable making it very hard to transition to anything beyond one of your clients. Unless you absolutely have to, DON'T JOIN!

    Advice to Management

Learn to treat your employees if you want to actually want to keep talent.

    Pros

Steep initial learning curve, smart and professional colleagues and free drinks. But that's about it!

    Cons

Awful senior management. Employees are treated like replaceable junk. Raises are a joke, hours can be extremely long - 12+ hrs sometimes, work gets repetitive after 9 months of initial learning and you keep doing the same stuff for at least 4+ years in most teams. Their own internal employee survey gave them such an awful review that they were ashamed enough not to share it for a while. DO NOT WORK HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OPTION!

    Advice to Management

These guys will never change. They don't understand that its more economical and efficient to make an effort to retain employees than the replace half the work force annually. They are only concerned about maximizing margins and revenues. Every time experience leaves you end showing shoddy analysis based on bad data to your clients done by a new hire with no training and no one to oversee their work. The clients just don't know about this!

    Pros

You get to work with very extensive and rich data with good scope to leverage it. Surrounded by young, hungry professionals who keep the workplace high energy and fun. A lot of people like to complain about the nature of the work they do, but if you know what you're getting into, its fine. It isn't investment banking, it isn't management consulting, it isn't a tech company. Deal with it.

    Cons

It takes a long time to get any responsibility, especially anything to do with clients. Managers are over-zealous in controlling client interactions. Not enough attention is paid to professional development of employers. The company offers reasonable perks for the most part, but you get the sense that they try to get by with being cheap whenever they can get away with it.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to your employees' growth instead of only having them rush from one overenthusiastic deadline to another, and watch your acquisition and retention of top talent spike.

    Pros

You can learn something about the credit card industry and at the same time polish your SQL skills. Pantry offers free drink.

    Cons

The management doesn't value employee's growth that much. The turnover rate is very high. Work-life balance isn't good.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees! It saves more money by keeping one than hiring a new one.

I have been working at Argus Information & Advisory Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get to work with raw as well as production data.
Have access to the code and will get lots of experience with SQL Server 2012.
Business casual atmosphere and most people are very approachable and helpful.

    Cons

Although most people are approachable, it might take time to find the one you actually want to talk to. Don't be surprised if you get totally contradictory responses from people about something important.
Evaluation / feedback can be unfair because the manager is unaware of your performance and doesn't take time to review your work carefully before evaluation.
Very high attrition rate as you see someone leaving the company almost every other week.

    Advice to Management

Regular feedback is necessary. Expectations must be set in advance and you cannot evaluate people based on expectations which they are not aware of especially when they have worked very hard and especially when they have communicated to you regularly and professionally.
