Pros
Very friendly family neighborhood atmosphere
Cons
Not many opportunities for growth

Pros
Large variety of patients in one unit provides a great learning opportunity. Surgical-medical-neuro-cardiac ICU patients. Great for new graduate RNs.
Cons
High turnover. Diminishing amount of senior staff available to train new graduates. No effort in retaining seasoned (>15-20yr experienced) staff. Rarely get your PTO request approved. Weekly text messages “please respond either way” requesting you to pick up overtime on your days off. I cannot count how many times I hear people say “you don’t realize how hard you are working until you leave that unit” after they have gone to a different ICU to work. Yet, the pay does not reflect it. New graduate nurses making very close to what a nurse makes who has >5years experience in ICU. Raises are minuscule and mean nothing when payment for benefits increase and cost of living rises. Over the years charge nurse now has assignments. Recently started to get ICU staff to take 3 patient assignments.

If you like to do overtime, there will be plenty of it.
Cons
Very often short-staffed, high turnover rate, cliques & favoritism. No CNAs in the ICU, so you're doing all the turning. Management does not even pretend to care about nursing, so that could be a pro if you value honesty.

Pros
Torresdale campus is busy. Nights go quickly supporting ER and OR.
Cons
Like any hospital, shifts are open 24/7.

Pros
Tight knit community. Upper Management is open about what is happening in the company. Most managers are flexible with your work schedule and you can work from home at least one day a week.
Cons
Lower than average salary. Not in city center so a fair commute. There is a huge drive on working overtime to complete deliverables with no real compensation for that additional work
