I have been working at Ariba full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very competitive compensation, lots of great people with great energy

    Cons

Hit or miss with management, I have had 3 directors in 5 years. Two were exceptional, the current one is the biggest snake I have ever worked for, watch your back...

    Advice to Management

Need to listen to customer and employee feedback or some of the up and coming P2P competitors and going to run all over us.

I have been working at Ariba full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Reasonable Pay, Opportunity for Advancement, Nice perks like free lunch 2 days a week and free beer every Friday.

    Cons

Since people move up fast some of the leadership lack the skills needed to manage people. That being said, most management tries to do well by the employees.

    Pros

Solid company owns them so they won't go out of business.

    Cons

No control over accounts - overlay model.
    - Poor implementation track record since SAP acquisition
    - Too many hands in cookie jar, lost of talking heads makes getting things done very tough
    - Political environment, incompetent managers

    Advice to Management

Flatten the org and give more control to the salespeople v SAP AE generalists.

I worked at Ariba full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay
    Get to see new places
If your position isn't a fit they will try to move you to another department rather that letting you go or firing

    Cons

    Travel hours
Terrible training for lesser experienced employees. It was catered to those they later were contractors beforehand. There was no mentorship set up for those fresh out of school. They just threw you into project with only training in the solution itself.
Consulting managers don't care about you. (I spent 6 months "on the bench", my manager said find a pool this summer it will be a long summer for you. Didn't even try to find me a project.

    Advice to Management

If someone has been on leave for 3 months. Don't assume they can be ready to go for a project in 2 weeks. Especially if you haven't had them do a consulting project in a year. (I had been doing other department jobs)

I have been working at Ariba full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, decent work/life balance, lots of autonomy in your job.

    Cons

There is a huge divide between those that have been with the company for 5-10+ years, and those who have joined more recently. It's a "Friends Promote Friends" culture, so promotions only go to those who have been around for a long time, not necessarily the most qualified person. Most managers are people who were good individual contributors back in the day, not people who have good management skills.

    Advice to Management

You've hired a lot of really talented people in the past few years. You will lose that talent if they continue to feel as second class citizens compared to those who've been around for years.

I have been working at Ariba full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is an absolute fantastic place to work! It has been the best in my almost 20 year career! I work from home. There are constant opportunities for growth within my role, but I also have the option to move into other roles within the company. We are growing fast, and 2017 is the year to SCALE! I work in a culture of innovation with a teamwork environment. There is great emphasis on Work/Life Balance. Competitive pay & benefits with things such as 15 PTO days, 5 Personal Days, and unlimited sick time starting the first year!

    Cons

I haven't experienced any negative aspects of working for this company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!
